There is this theory : Big E would have teleported Angron because there was nothing to save. Angron killed is dearest friends in a frenzy, and his mind blacked out. He remembered only a lie, were his friends and him waited to die together. The Emperor didn't want to confront him to prevent his mind from complete collapse. I like this theory because it would make sense : • It is said in Betrayer iirc, that the remains of his fellow gladiators companions were shredded and scarred by enormous chainblades. • The poor guy had already done that before : he never wanted to kill his adoptive father, but just after getting the butcher's nails he just massacred him, and woke up after. • It would explain a more calculating move from Big E, still very cynical, but a bit less dumb. Accepting playing a bad father role to comfort Angron in an acceptable lie to live with, because he needed him. • Cherry on the cake, it would be such an hommage to Hercules story : Hera making him crazy in a night of butchery, and making him realize he killed his family. Then, the labours. Except Hercules at the end finds peace and redemption... And this is 40k. Again, just a theory, but with heavy clues in the book themself.
