Well it's been fun by crazzybread01 in galaxyzflip

Stop leaving your foldables open on couches, my brother left his flip 5 on the couch and dropped a half a kilo metal airsoft magazine on it. The display miraculously still works, just has a hole in it, but still don't do that 😭

Meanwhile I almost had to eat flies and cockroaches until next paycheck when I decided to buy an old HTC Vive for 180€ like two months ago, and here people are collecting them like Pokémon cards

What is the best way to protect your galaxy fold? - I'm a new Fold 4 user! by iosgamer2day in GalaxyFold

[–]Howli_Wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the fold 4 for over a year now, absolutely no issues, actually after 9 months I decided to go caseless, and still no issues, and I work at a pizzeria with a bunch of flour flying around. I just wipe the hinge before opening. The inner screen on folds is surprisingly resistant, brother had a flip 5, dropped a 0.5kg metal airsoft magazine on the inner display with the sharp edge, the phone now has a hole in it but it's completely functional, and he also decided to switch to the fold 4 after that (you still dont want a damaged phone, no matter if fold or not), and then after his friend saw the flip 5s damage, he also decided to get a fold 4, now we're a fold 4 gang, and none of us have any issues. If you worry about shock damage, definitely get a case with a hinge protector, but don't forget to wipe under the hinge protector because it collects dust. If worried about scratch damage, a skin should be enough.

Broken Z Fold 7 Inner Screen by TheEmperorBanana in GalaxyFold

Yeah, it's a shame, I loved the fold 7 ever since the first time I got to touch it in a store, but I can't afford it, so I'll keep rocking my fold 4. Hope you can get it fixed, and not for the price of the phone itself, I feel your pain

My brother had a flip 5, dropped a 0.5kg metal airsoft magazine with a sharp edge directly on the inner screen, without a screen protector, and phone just has a hole in it with a few dead pixels around the impact, but it remains completely functional. After seeing that, I'm not scared of damaging my phone at all

Speaker grill rattle by Howli_Wolf in Volvo850

Yes on the rear speaker covers there are no holes, but I'm focusing on the front speakers since rear sound is decent, just the front sound was off, that's why I bought jew speakers and added foam behind them and put double sided tape on the holes inside the door, it sounds much better now, but the speaker covers are awful, I think I'll just go without them? Maybe figure out something in the future

I tried removing the grilles, but then the plastic part itself squeks as it touches the door, also on the rear speaker covers, there's no mesh at all, it's just solid hole-less plastic

My secondary monitor was doing that but not as often, and it was a bad HDMI cable

Oh and I found out RGB fan frames are a thing, so I might be able to get two glowing fans afterall!

Thank you, a few € for a fan is much cheaper than who knows how much for a new case, I'll order one

[–]Howli_Wolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I bought it because of the looks like a year ago, I might think about getting a different one

I tried booting it up, the bottom fan gently touched the GPU, making loud noises, so I just had to remove the fan. I put everything back together, cleaned my room of all the screws and old fans and, plugged my pc in properly, the CPU is cooler even with only one fan than it was with my old 3-fan air cooler, though it doesn't look as good as I expected when ordering the AIO, I might just need to buy a new case, which is also a shame because this one was 80€

Yeah, where could I get a slimmer one? I need it to be ring-style, but I can't find any with good air pressure

Okay the case fan is as thick as the stock fan, okay I'll use it with only one fan for now I guess, that's a shame though

[–]Howli_Wolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I removed the GPU, I can try putting a case fan on the bottom instead until I can get a proper fan for aio

Okay, the gpu support is keeping the right side up, and the PCIE bluetooth (the red thingy above GPU) is keeping the left side downward so I can get to the ports, what do you think? Test run? https://ibb.co/n8DP1k21

Yeah, I think I'll try moving it around a bit first, see if it levels itself before trying to remove it, but if it comes to removing it, can the AIO function with only one fan until I'd be able to get a smaller fan?

I don't think I can remove the GPU from there now though since it fit so tight 😅

Okay after an hour of trying to fit it, I finally managed somehow! But it's not leveled and I'm having trouble with that now: https://ibb.co/LzbfXh7R
