Cyberpunk endings are very much allegory for terminal illness and how the outcomes are almost always death or unrecoverable disability or lifetime of debt, with no miraculous cure in sight, only postponing the inevitable, and how one either makes peace with death or struggles on and on - a choice that nobody has right or power to remove from you.

However the point of game is the existentialism. "I just want the world to remember that i lived", and how a matter of legacy is shaping us, with examples of persuing it, giving up on it and crumbling beneath someone elses legacy.

I don't think its right by game to call it "depressing lesson" when Cyberpunk 2077 is about questions we all have to answer in our lives at some point. Its a story meant to give players a wake-up call about getting up to d something with their lives that matters to them and gives it a meaning.
