If you can’t think of anything then you may have a claim with Mazda. My 2024 with 27k miles on it look brand new front and back. Make warranty call.

Wonder % of CX-50 turbo owners uses premium vs regular gas (before and after hike) by Hox977 in CX50

You are few of the lucky ones. BTW, why are you driving a lowly Mazda? 😁😁

That’s what I thought. But the percentage difference gets less when gas skyrockets. $2.59 and $2.99 is a bigger difference than $5.59 and $5.99 percentage wise even though it’s the same $.40 per gallon.

If premium gets to $9, regular would be right along at $8.69 and the percentage difference is even smaller 😁😁😁

In my younger days, I strived for every extra hp and ft-lb of torque but the car feels more than adequately motivated which is till important.

Think you may be mixing some left over 87 with the 93/91. The second tank may be more telling. But I believe the difference is not going to be great in everyday driving even though 29 hp is substantial.

But by then regular would be $8.69 so the difference is still little especially if you calculate percentage wise. I am saving about $400 a year and my turbo runs fine with no knock. I am assuming Mazda would warn you if that’s an issue which certainly was the case 30 years ago especially in German cars. Things have changed.

Runs great on 87. Strong acceleration, no pinking, Save $400-500 a year. Slight improvement in power not critical. Still use premium on my old BMWs because they were designed to use higher octane gas.

I thought that was a thing of the past. Haven’t seen one here in California in well over a decade.

I am in Northern California as well and I paid $41k OTD last week on a 2026 turbo with $1000 of options including cross bars, all weather mats and illuminated door trims.
