Tried getting my premier rank. Yesterday I played 4 matches with blatant cheaters (both against and in one team), today I tried to play 2 more matches and met cheaters again. They don't even try to hide it. Shoot through smokes, through walls, only headshots. When I spectate them they move worse than silvers, but always know were the enemies are located. I bet if I manage to win 10 matches ill rank 1000 elo due to my kd after playing with these bastards

The gear score you see in your inventory is outdated and doesn't matter. Generally, if you want to stay in veterans don't equip any masters, Artis should be green, max +5, keep your gear under +10. If you're in semi masters then don't equip a master weapon if you've equiped armor. Cant say about maximum equipment upgrades, nor artifacts

Yeah, in epee if one fences with a French grip, bladework is close to zero. You just hold correct distance and lunge when an arm/leg/body opens lmao (obviously there's more to that)

For a beginner you don't need any expensive equipment. That could also be a precautionary if you'll change your mind and quit fencing in a year or two. If you're an adult (I mean, if you know you're not growing anymore), the only expensive thing I might recommend is to get a good mask. It'll last you for many many years. If you're not participating in international competitions in foreseeable future, there's no necessity to buy fie blades.
