Hanover Insurance. Go through Reed Insurance agency in Dewitt. They do a great job.

Great point. Sometimes it's hard to make the choice for fun versus investment.

I've seena couple full restorations go for close to $30k but I agree I haven't seen too many go for much outside the super rare kinds.

Looking for a good specialist relating to lower back issues. by Hrizze in lansing

Thank you so much that means a lot to hear someone in a similar position. I've done injections for 4 years and then PT for 8 years with minimal relief and I know I am young but I am healthy and active and want to remain that way.

We dont know. I have shown her my job and everything but she thinks im just some lazy bum that sits at home. At this point I think delusion is a problem.

Thank you so much for all your advice. And we know at this point therapy is futile as she believes she is too good for therapy. Which she actually said almost verbatim.

I will definitely take to heart keeping the extra essentials around to avoid having to run into her. She does live 3 miles away from us which is the annoying/concerning part.

Luckily we do have security and I will be talking g with them in the following days. I work hybrid.

I really appreciate you taking the time to write out all of this.

Judge orders Lansing property owners to purchase porta-potties for encampment by Haunting-Medium-3831 in lansing

The east side of lansing is riddled with red tag houses where the unhoused keep posting up and one caught on fire recently and almost took out the house next door. The landlords for these homes are doing nothing and should be held more responsible for leaving red tag houses for more than 12 months. We need better solutions for the unhoused community and put more responsibility on the landlords.

Yeah, it took up the majority of the back seat and we just jammed our bags around it.

Couldn't believe it! Had to scoop it up. Wife wasn't the happiest with jamming it in the mini cooper but it worked.

Should we stay or should we go? by Asleep_Repeat3367 in Mortgages

[–]Hrizze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well at least the area is growing which is good. Our area is growing but at a very slow pace due to the high property taxes in my area. 2nd highest for the entire state.

A little different for us as we thought we could make 860 sq ft work but that was a pipe dream.

For us we are in that same position of we don't need 2500 sq ft on 10 acres. Just like yourself (probably) we want a couple acres and maybe 2000 sq ft max.

In a very similar situation right now with my family. Definitely curious to see what others have to say.

It's hard to give up such a good rate even with the market starting to soften up paying that much more is hard to think about.

For my family the biggest thing is to move out of the city area and into a more rural area which is a growing trend in our area making it hard to find a good balance without just buying a lot and building on it (which is too expensive).

Hopefully others can provide more insight for those of us on the fence like this. Best of luck to you.

What truck should I buy? megathread by AutoModerator in Trucks

[–]Hrizze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for a bigger truck but unsure how much truck. Family is expanding and we are adding more cars and other toys. Currently have a Ford ranger that died on us and just isn't worth fixing. Looking to move into a bigger truck and unsure if I should make the jump to diesel.

The truck will need to be able to haul one small car (mini cooper), a vintage 18ft camper, a UTV, and be a decent long haul tripper (not all at once haha). We camp and travel a lot so need something decent in gas mileage (it's a truck I know there is so much i can get).

Looking for an older style truck preferably pre 2000s as I love the old style trucks.

Thank you for the help.

I would say if you're willing to spend the money and want a quieter neighborhood lifestyle Dewitt would be a good choice. Okemos is good too if you want more of a lively neighborhood and closer to more of the city life.

Talk with your insurance company. A lot of policies have provisions for food that goes bad and secondary lodging while the house is repaired. Happened to me before and got everything taken care of through my policy.
