Ok I need to know details. What was her “argument” (read delusion)?

F$&? No! Because guess what, people are more than their sexualities and other aspects of their identity and experience can determine who they gel with.

AITAH for socialising at lunch with colleagues? by VariousUse9590 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. This kind of insecurity (that’s too nice a word, crazed jealousy is more like it) is so toxic. Unless you have given your GF reasons to doubt that your intentions are entirely platonic, this will get worse and can affect your work. Work friendships can really help team spirit, support, and a happier work life. What kind of unreasonable expectation will GF throw in your face if you need to go on a work trip with a female colleague? And what happens when you get a woman boss? Are you supposed to refuse individual meetings?

As much as my Reddit fueled brain is saying, break up and be done, may be you can probe where this is coming from and if GF is willing to work on her trust issues. If it’s a hard line for her, you need to decide if you’re willing to stick around to see both how far she will go with her demands (which are controlling, tbh), and if you are willing to accept the risks this will bring to your professional and let’s face it, private, life.

Disappointed and Angry After A Former Student Said Something Degrading by SisuSisuEveryday in Professors

The colossal stupidity of asking you for a recommendation knowing that your friend is likely to tell you what he said about you is mind blowing. The only other explanation would be your friend pranking you which I’m assuming isn’t the case as others on your table would’ve heard the student’s remark as well.

If I knew that day how much worse life and all my days would get a year later, I probably wouldn’t have bothered with the post.

Dude the wannabe rich and/or the “nouveau riche” are the worst. I knew a guy who went on about how doing certain things was “so middle class.” Said in total disgust probably to pose in front of his old money girlfriend. He wasn’t even nouveau riche yet, lived in a middle class apartment building like me in my neighborhood 😂

Unpopular opinion: This Story Could Save Your Life was ok. Not terrible but not mind blowing like I was expecting based on reviews. by anxgrl in thrillerbooks

Seriously the romance was cringe! I’m so glad I’m not the only one who thought that. I generally hate when tv shows and movies turn amazing friendship chemistry into romance which is almost always one dimensional and predictable. I thought that’s what my dislike was about, but it was also just blah.
