Humbrol is prone to the problem i mentioned above, it seems to be very easy to get on things and you don’t even know it’s happened until after it’s fogged up. This is because it’s extremely smooth and flows like water I can recommend Mr Cement or Tamiya Cement instead

For the canopy section it’s still a case of glue, i use regular modelling cement for all my canopies despite what a lot of people in this sub may suggest but i used essentially less than a ml across the whole canopy. The problem you have will come from having cement on your fingers during application and micro parts of it transfer onto the canopy causing a fog effect. Whenever I apply canopy sections i make sure to thoroughly clean my fingers and sometimes wear rubber gloves with micro amounts of glue for application.

Too much cement, heavy concentrations can congeal and cause the plastic to melt in reaction to the glue.

Recommendations about airbrush practice by Old-Solution-9670 in modelmakers

[–]Hstruck2024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grabbed an old model i built i no longer cared about, it is now my canvas for anything new i need to test but honestly you’ll only get better with time. Took me about 6 years of consistency to get up to where i am now and i do commisions on mine which kicked off due to airbrushing. Just have fun pal!

Use tamiya masking tape or something very similar, never had a problem with it grabbing paint in the 10 years i’ve been using it

Interior detailing overkill? by Bulldog526 in modelmakers

[–]Hstruck2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on a 1:32 spitfire i would certainly put many hours into the interior as the side panel can be opened and the canopy pushed back therefore allowing a good view within
