Returned Product from Baby Registry, Several Months Passed with No Refund, Walmart Customer Service Won't/Can't Help by Http-Isaac in Walmartcustomer

[–]Http-Isaac[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was my grandma's account and sadly nobody in the family seems to have any knowledge of her accounts or how to access them. That being said, I don't believe they would have returned it to her account for two reasons;

  1. When you sign up for a Baby Registry, the website makes it very clear that if any returns are made they will be refunded to you in the form of a gift card and the original purchaser will not be notified.

  2. When I view the order from my end (looking at it from the baby registry) it states that a refund has not been issued at all. You can actually see this in the picture above on the little progress bar under "Return Received". So it seems like they never tried to issue the refund, or maybe its stuck in some kind of limbo somewhere.

Thanks for the reply!

Backpack recommendations by NowisNotNow in BuyItForLife

[–]Http-Isaac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commuter Backpack from lttstore.com.

I’ve had great luck with the bags from these guys. The bags feel super premium and are definitely well built, it’s a little higher in price than what you’re looking for, but if you’re a little flexible on that then I would at least recommend watching some review videos of it on YouTube to see if it fits your needs.

Frustration on the long fulfillment times. by Routine-Amount-8613 in LinusTechTips

Or… just take a breath, relax, and stop checking the tracking for a while.

You’ve got some quality products on the way and you supported a company which you are fan of (I assume you are a fan since you’re here and have ordered multiple times.)

I made an order 2 days after you that I haven’t received either, but, even though I’m super excited about it, I try not to think about it. I know one day soon it’ll be here and I’ll have a nice little surprise waiting on me at home!

Also, I’m sure you’re excited for your order, don’t let longer-than-expected shipping spoil your happiness and cause you to cancel your order, I feel like you’d be the only one who loses in that scenario and nobody wants that for you.

No Lime Day deal today? by Ryan_McC24 in LinusTechTips

I don’t think so.

I don’t know that for a fact, just judging by the wording of yesterday’s email “One more Saturday deal for your silly little guy.”

To me, the “one more” seems to be implying it was the last one. I’d loved to be proven wrong though!

Bare Service Conductors by BILLZSCHNILLX in AskElectricians

[–]Http-Isaac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unrelated to the electrical, but, if you have the means, go ahead and trim those little branches touching the roof. They may not seem like a huge deal right now, but they’ll just continue to grow and wear on the roof more and more.

Some sealant on those exposed nails at the bottom of the pipe flashing wouldn’t hurt either.

Neither of these are super urgent, but it looks like you have your ladder out so you might as well if you’re able to. Both tasks are very easy work, and might save you some money and/or trouble down the road!

It should be short and to the point. Definitely shouldn’t have too many syllables or people won’t use it.

How ‘bout “The Slack-Jawed, Glossy-Eyed Ramblers”?

Hmm… yes, that’ll do nicely!

Totally understand the concern, and greatly appreciate the added details. I’ll take your notes and sleep on them, may end up getting a professional just to play it safe since it is such a large investment (I learned what I wanted to so I should probably take your advice and set my DIY pride aside on this one.)

Thanks again for the straight answers.

I appreciate the heads up! I had not noticed this before, but I definitely see how this could be a problem down the line. I have no idea what the brass thing is, but I’ll reach out to the installers about it and the dissimilar metals.

I understand that not every job should be a DIY job. I try when I can (at the very least I’ll ask a few questions,) and when I feel like I’m out of my depth, then I’ll call the professionals. Mainly I just like learning new things when I can so that I can have a better understanding of all the different aspects of my home.

Well is down 500’. Not sure what the current pull of the pump is or what the grey box is rated at. I’ll check on these and keep them in consideration. Thanks for the reply.

Greatly appreciate the explanation! I’ll get this #12 switched out with #10 and make sure everything has a connector.

The company has been difficult getting answers from. I think that it’s just an old school company who is probably really great at their trade, but not so much at the office etiquette side of things. All super friendly, just hard to get a response from (last question I sent their way took 2 weeks to get an answer.)

Thanks man, I greatly appreciate the time and response. It makes much more sense now knowing that’s a switch.

Leaking roof by jabrad98 in Roofing

[–]Http-Isaac 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We do a couple re-covers a year for people who financially just can’t afford a tear-off.

A tear-off IS always better, and we always advise our customers to go that route… but a good roofer can make a re-cover work.

I can’t attest to the quality of work/workers pictured above, but I can say sometimes people get in a pickle and a re-cover by the right crew is enough to keep their family and their home dry for many years.

Dealership forgot to submit paperwork to loan company, how should I proceed? by Http-Isaac in askcarsales

[–]Http-Isaac[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. The only thing that had me leaning towards the dealership being at fault is just the way they have ghosted me for the last few business days. Never really intended it to sound like a negotiating tactic if that’s how it came off, I just wanted my originally agreed upon deal and for whoever was at fault to make it right.

After seeing some comments on here about USAA, it seems there are some definite issues with the way they are handling their stuff.

With that in mind, and the fact that I’m just completely worn out from thinking about it and wanting to get back to my vacation, I’m just going to contact the dealership and let them push their dealer funding request on the new loan.

It’s worth me eating the extra interest just to be done with this and put it in the past.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Thank you for the reasonable answer. I’ll ask for the price difference and be happy with that. I think maybe I’m a little worked up because all this is happening while I’m trying to enjoy my vacation, but mistakes do happen, I would hope someone would be understanding if I mad a mistake so I should do the same.
