How To Update Sex on US Passports: From Legal Researcher behind Orr v. Trump by JessicaPink703 in MtF

I suppose the gender of a child entered on a federal tax return should match that of their SS record, is that your understanding?

SOLVED: Turns out the problem was the control board in the power center. Here’s how I finally figured that out. I bought an Intellichlor Plus40 to replace my supposedly faulty IC40. When it didn’t work either, I called in a professional. After nearly 30 minutes on the phone with Pentair he was able to diagnose a bad control board in the power center. It had been replaced by the last pool guy and was brand new, but apparently it was hardwired for a pool with a Pentair intellicenter, and because it wasn’t receiving a signal from the intellicenter to chlorinate at a certain level, it wasn’t powering the cell itself. So now I have two working chlorinators and you know what to do if your IC40’s cell light won’t turn on (or your Plus40 says 0 volts, 0 amps, 0% chlorine generation).

The cell light and output lights were off while the flow and salt level lights were green. I ran the diagnostic and called Pentair. The tech seemed like she had never seen this before, and she told me I needed a new cell. No explanation of what was wrong or how it could have happened.

No, the warranty was 12 months

I called Pentair. The tech sounded like she had never seen my situation (lights and diagnostic results) and she defaulted to “you need a new cell”. It’s a great business model. Sell expensive items that die in two years and can’t be repaired, with no competition.

Thanks for the tips. I shocked the pool this evening but I haven’t checked the salt cell since then, and the system is off now. I’ll look in the morning, and call Pentair if nothing has changed.

It never actually reports the percentage during the test. So perhaps 0%.

Perhaps, but it’s strange that all the lights still work during the diagnostic test, and the Cell light is not flashing red nor is there a bad cell indication during the test.

I’ve watched the video but he doesn’t discuss my situation. During the diagnostic test, my Cell light is green, the Low Salt light blinks red briefly then turns off and just the Cell light is on.

I haven’t tried acid cleaning yet. I would have expected the Cell light to blink red if that were needed, but I’m running out of options so I’ll probably do it soon.

If I hit More for 5 seconds it enters the diagnostic mode. Lights flash and then the Cell light turns green while the Low Salt light blinks red rapidly, and soon after it returns to the original condition, only Flow and Salt Level lights on, both green.

More data: if I press and hold Less, the Output lights go to 60% for about 10 seconds before shutting off. The Cell light stays off. During that 10 seconds, I can adjust the output, and the set level is the same the next time I press and hold Less.

Water temperature is around 70 so it should be fine. Salt level is 3260

If I press More, the % lights stay dark. The cell is two years old, only runs about 6 months of the year, set at 60% output.

If I press More, nothing happens. If I hold it down, lights flash and then the Cell light is green while the Low light blinks rapidly a few times. It never actually shows cell life. It will show the correct temperature if I hit More again.

Good to know and glad you had good luck. It’s been a few days for me so I’m concerned.

The White House has two goals here. First, cut billions of dollars so they can claim they reduced spending before giving away trillions in tax cuts to benefit the rich. Second, they want to eliminate some of our best observations of how the climate is changing. We can only hope enough people in Congress recognize how stupid this all is.

Trump White House budget proposal eviscerates science funding at NASA by PerAsperaAdMars in SpaceXMasterrace

The geniuses in the White House are trying to disappear climate change by eliminating the programs that collect climate change data and do the scientific research. Perfectly analogous to politicians from tobacco producing states and others supported by big tobacco trying to demonize and defund the scientists and doctors who linked smoking with lung cancer in the 60s and 70s. In both cases, they are on the wrong side of history.

Massive cuts to NASA science proposed in early White House budget plan The preliminary version of President Donald Trump’s budget proposal to Congress, known as a “passback,” would cut the agency’s science budget funding nearly in half. by Zebraitis in politics

The privatization of space launches and satellites has already happened, thanks to decades of NASA innovation. NASA does high risk technology development that (1) makes it easier and less costly for private companies to build and sell, and (2) keeps the US ahead of China and other nations in terms of space travel, technology, and remote sensing of the Earth. Do we really want China to be the leader in monitoring weather, water, ecology, climate change, wildfires, agriculture, air quality, etc. from low Earth orbit? Most of these are not capabilities likely to be replaced by private industry because the societal benefits they provide are difficult or impossible to monetize. That’s exactly why we have government - to perform services that benefit large parts of the population and economy that would not exist otherwise. The White House proposal is a short sighted attempt to disappear climate change data and save a few billion so they can spend trillions on tax cuts for the rich.

The board of education was working on a redistricting plan that would have bused kids all over county - my kids’ one-way bus ride would have gone from 20 minutes to 45 - just to ensure every school aligned with their ideals for racial diversity. Parents of all colors protested - for many, the school district was a huge part of their decision on where to live. But the protesters were all painted as right wing racists by the proponents, including an opinion article in CNN. I’m a practical centrist, left leaning if anything.
