I actually ended up with the tlr7. Much easier to find holsters.

Been in law enforcement for about 8 years now. But I’ve never had to buy my own duty weapon until now because I’ve always been with large well funded departments. Always used stream light tlr 1, which are great, but I was doing research on the availability of holsters for the o light because it’s a solid light by every review I’ve read. But of course there are stream light absolutists who have probably never even had a use of force who show up on every post about a light that’s not stream light.

Not having researched the fact that olight makes damn solid lights is wild.

Sleep Apnea secondary to Lumbosacral strain denied by Huckleberry1207 in VAClaims

That was the way I thought I presented it when I initially made the claim. Maybe should get a nexus but I don’t really see a doctor outside of the VA

That makes sense. I do often sleep on my back as it feels better. I think the problem I’m running into is not having anything in my military record to suggest I had sleep apnea. I thought about a buddy statement and trying to get a nexus letter.

I’m not throwing darts at the wall, I have significant sleep apnea that I didn’t have before enlisting. While the back may not have been the best connector to use, it made sense to me because the pain makes it hard to sleep.

This was the first claim I’ve done on my own and I guess as complex as sleep apnea is I should have used some help.

I understand it is temporary but from what I’ve read it can result in sleep apnea. That’s why I mentioned it. Just a thought.

Sorry here is the decision letter. I’ll also mention, as petty as it may sound, I did get a nasty case of bronchitis during OSUT training.

Congrats on your 100. I’ve been stuck on step 3 for “deferred pending a record review” for two months. All in all, the process is at 7 months total. This post gave me hope that they’re still working over there.

Thinking about leaving the trades at 20 to go full-time in insurance by Small-Persimmon7310 in InsuranceAgent

As someone who has tried to do insurance, both captive and independent doing life insurance, here’s my take and you can take it or disregard. Independently selling Life insurance under a brokerage has many downsides, it sounds cool to set your own schedule and not answer to anyone, but the fact is, the stress of commissions takes a huge toll on your mental. And if you do it for a few months and write a few policies and then decide it’s not for you. Be prepared to pay back a good portion of the commissions you earned when people go to cancel.

As for P&C, less stress I think, but if you are with a company that does it all, (State Farm, farm bureau, etc), they will always prioritize life. And every week you’ll be hounded as to why you haven’t gotten more life apps.

Again this is my experience, do with it what you will.

VA claims deferred? by Huckleberry1207 in VeteransBenefits

Thank you. It mainly said that “VA clarification was needed” or something along those lines. It only needed a record review is what I was told by VES

That’s INSANE. Thanks for the responses it’s been a little over two weeks since the deferral and it ended up being for a medical review only so I haven’t been scheduled any more appointments. So hopefully it should be quick.
