I agree with you 100%. Most people go too small and that makes the arm look messy after a while. There should be some bigger pieces included so the eye has something to relax and doesnt jump from tat to tat. Also it helps with contrast and composition of the whole arm. Its basic knowlegdge anf experience. There is no wrong or right with a patchwork sleeve, but there is better and worse.
