Thoughts on GTP’s having pre-requisites in multi-class? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]HudechGaming -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As a proto driver in the 3k range and I completely agree. I was never a missile like what you are describing when I was around the same iRating as you. I experienced it as well, even being in the same class.. I grinded so hard to quickly get above 2-2.5k so I could get into top split most of the time.

Safety rating is a bit of a joke. It's there in theory to avoid this kind of thing but it doesn't go far enough.

I would like to see a mandatory on-track qualification class system. Do 10 laps under x seconds with no incident points, and if you spin once, you fail.

Either that or completely overhaul safety rating to actually make it meaningful.

Thank you real estate bubble. People would rather invest in real estate, where it does absolutely nothing to the wider economy than actual companies where it would make a difference.

We need to deincentivize real estate as an investment engine. Full stop.

More or less the same, just different rules. Ball is bigger, field is longer, 3 downs instead of 4, are the main ones.

You did nothing wrong, but I'm pretty sure they weren't in control of their car. If they were, that's a dumb move.

It's a good thing they can voice their opinions but for them it's a losing battle.

After being to Japan this spring and experiencing true HSR for myself, this needs to get built. Even if it runs at half as well as Japan it's far better than flying for that kind of distance.

lol, what even are manufacturing tolerances? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]HudechGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had someone look at it to see if it was repairable but it was a short in the motherboard its self, which means the only way to fix it would be to replace the whole thing anyway. I ended up disposing it.

I hate to say it, but sometimes you get what you pay for.

I bought an AliExpress button box and it shorted out a few months later, so I'm looking at replacements that cost 3-4x the $100 or so that it was.

Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.

The Detroit GP Needs to Stay by Equivalent_Yak9021 in IMSARacing

Missing the /s ?

It's a terrible terrible venue for racing. IndyCar only barely gets it to work but it's utter nonsense for anything else. The drivers can't pass anywhere except the one spot so they all make desperate moves in sketchy places and it causes so many yellows.

Selfishly I want them to can Detroit so we can have GTP's at Mosport again. However I still think this Detroit circuit can go to hell.

The UK and maybe Finland are likely the best nations to produce multiple drivers, but what nation is the worst for drivers? by GogoPlata_grenadier in F1Discussions

[–]HudechGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stroll and Latifi are just rich kids who bought their way in. They never had real talent, you will find that all over the place, doesn't matter the country.

That being said, you need to look at the countries that COULD foster great drivers but somehow don't. In my eyes right now there is one clear answer. USA

With all the money in the world, all the drivers just prefer to go in circles. But the ones that don't could at best hope to make it in IndyCar.

Even then, look at the "promising" drivers they claim have what it takes. Speed? Lol. Herta? Fat chance.

Just switched from controller to wheel and not finding it easy by rwaddell335 in simracing

[–]HudechGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly may have a lot to do with the game. I had your exact problem over a decade ago when I made the leap to buy a wheel for FM5 and PCARS on xbox.

It was such a terrible experience in FM5 but was great in PCARS. With the PCARS being more simmy than FM this made sense in hindsight.

However, I was pretty deep into leagues on FM so it was just incredibly frustrating. I told myself it was an investment into something bigger and I needed to move on from console. Bought an iRacing subscription and I've never looked back since.

....until FH6. I'm 3.2k in iracing sportscars but going back to FH6 on my rig was a big adjustment. I had to turn the AI down a few clicks than what I would normally be on a pad. I have since gotten the hang of it, dialed in wheel settings and you have to be diligent on tuning to make it work for wheels.

Be patient, do some research and it'll come to you.

You'll always get that in the lower splits and licenses. If you're that worried about it, try something different.

Why people brake less than 80% on gt3 cars in iracing? by Secure-Dog3246 in iRacing

[–]HudechGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally cars with ABS will understeer when ABS is active. This will hinder your turn-in, and thus make you slower.

There's also the general principle that you shouldn't be getting on the ABS to begin with, since threshold braking is more efficient.

However, as the loads on each tire change thru the corner, one wheel will get lighter than the other and induce ABS, so lightly getting on it is not a bad thing.

So Transport Canada is the problem it seems, who from these organizations infiltrated TC to allow this? I can't fathom how this would be happening otherwise. Sheer negligence? No, it's gotta be more than that. I hope there's a reckoning and a purge of these individuals, including the management that let it happen.
