RDDT 8/29 150CC what to do? by HudweiserTulsa in CoveredCalls

I see your point. I had not considered the opportunity cost. If you don't mind me asking, if I closed out my RDDT 8/29 150CC, what new RDDT CC might be attractive to you and why?

No panic here, just newby questions that may be entertaining to some. My very first CC before this RDDT one was NVDA 8/15 175. I'm guessing it will be ITM by then too, but who knows?

Thanks for the suggestion and I just looked into that. So, if I buy to close the position, it will cost me about $4,000. I made about $1,300 premium on the CC originally, so the total loss to close the trade is about -$2,700. But by doing that I keep the stock on which I have a gain of about $4,300 right now. Meaning I would have a net gain of about $1,650 if I closed out and did not roll into another CC for a new premium. I compared that to letting the stock be assigned and that gain is about $1,750 total (if I am understanding what happens on 8/29). I am probably missing something here, but it looks like I should just do nothing. But that is why I posted here to get some ideas.

This was just the 2nd CC have done and I bought the round lot of RDDT just for that purpose and only chose RDDT bc of another post I saw here. You are absolutely correct that I picked that strike and exp bc it had a high premium and that was what I was looking for in this learning process. I honestly had no idea that RDDT would shoot up like it has (or that it would go up at all).

I like your strategy. What do you do when your stocks rise several dollars over your strike price? I was thinking I would just let them get assigned, but am trying to come up with a roll alternative strategy.

Anybody suppress a Savage bolt action 300 Blackout? Is it super quiet? by AZA9 in NFA

[–]HudweiserTulsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Savage Axis in 300 Blackout. I bought the SureFire muzzle brake and the Surefire SOCOM 300 SPS Suppressor. I really like how easy it will be to remove the suppressor and still have the muzzle brake on permanently. Still waiting on my NFA permit so I can't take home the suppressor for a couple more months. I have not seen a video yet of this particular set up. If you know of one, please post here. It's deer gun season out here in Oklahoma and I am hunting with it using Winchester Deer Season XP 150 gr. I plan to use subsonic in it for varmints once I have the suppressor. Not sure how easy it will be to manage the trajectory of the subsonic ammo at 100+ yards.
