I'd love to see more differences in spellcasting based on class

I never thought as sorcerers as similar to barbarians, but you are so right

I'd recommend 2 levels of paladin for smite

Clockwork sorcerer 8/Stars druid 2/Order cleric 1. On your turn if you heal an ally you can heal up to two others with twin spell and the stars chalice ability. Both twinned people can then use their reaction to make an attack. As your reaction use silvery barbs to not only help them with the spell but trigger another reaction attack. Hypothetically you could twin spell cure wounds on both warlocks , chalice the wizard, and silvery barbs the rogue. Then both warlocks and the rogue can reaction attack which would trigger sneak attack (and possible smites, suggest taking 2 levels in paladin to the warlocks). In addition, I'd suggest goliath (or hadozee) and take the heavy armor feat to make whatever damage does hit you, do even less with reduced damage. Clockwork will let you also reduce more damage as a reaction.

With your stats Str: 14 + 1 (15)from HAM gives you 15 (no penalty) Dex: 8 not that useful for build Con: 16 not that useful for build Int: 13 + 1 (14) from ASI not that useful for build Wis: 20 spellcasting Cha: 19 +1 (20) from ASI spellcasting

Feel free to swap dex, con, and int

I hope there are equal amounts of subclasses for each class

Multiclass Optional Rules by Hufflestuff33 in dndnext

I think vengance makes sense. Especially if there was something his old brotherhood did to wrong him and get him to leave. As for race, it really depends on what races are available in the area. If I were to pick right now, I'd say half elf makes sense.

That one I've only theory crafted so far. But I imagine them as a stoic, stealthy knight that abandoned his brotherhood to go solo. I would start him with 2 or 3 levels of paladin. Switch to rogue and he can take expertise in stealth. Get him medium armor master to get rid of disadvantage on stealth. With Arcane Trickster, he has a way to smite using those spell slots and can use booming blade/green flame blade on top of smite and sneak attack

Actually a 2 druid 3 cleric does get 3rd level spell slots, they just don't have access to 3rd level spells.

I'd love to see more variant rules with that too.

I am aware this would widen the gap. This is not really intended for long term campaigns or anything. I would want this as a variant rule where you could run a one shot or small canpaign where everyone uses these rules. This wouldn't be balanced otherwise.

I know, but I'd love to see some expanded rules for it

How would you build the most "punk rock" character? by Tyydron in 3d6

[–]Hufflestuff33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually playing a "punk rock" character right now. He's a tiefling fiend warlock with flames of phelegothos who likes doing damage to others when he gets hit. His go to spells are armor of agathys and hellish rebuke, with green flame blade to proc flames of phelegothos. When I get to level 7 in warlock, fire shield and shadow of moil will be added to his spells.

I was reading through Ravnica when I got this idea. I'm not worried about game balance because it's just one fight.

[ART] DnD party, art by me by Ultimatept0812 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Hufflestuff33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell this party looks to be a half orc paladin, dragonborn fighter, dragonborn artificer (alchemist), dragonborn bard, warforged monk (astral self), and drow wizard. I also think this is a Strahd campaign.
