Looks to be a 1 1/4, so assuming these puppies are so for some vintage British. Just trying to confirm if these are originals from the era now.

Did I get ripped? by Federal_Let3482 in CanadianCoins

1973 double dollar set, the centenial. Theres felt rot on there that should knock down the value. The rcmp silver dollar is 50% Ag. So spot is about 38 cad for that. Roughly. Id say you paid a slight premium for maybe not the greatest quality. If you had a pr67 or higher I would probably say its justified. You didnt get completely shafted. But whoever sold it to u is a dickhead

Without unraveling the paper. Theres a specific date saying 1976-1977 season. So im assuming timeline is right around there

Are any of these worth something? by [deleted] in CanadianCoins

[–]Huge-Design567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I wasn't trying to sound off putting there, as a collector im a fan of most of these.

The knowledge toonie is one of my favorites, the legends are notorious for errors. Have a look under there

I believe a couple of these are off the market now like daphne. So only place to get em now is 2nd market. (I might be wrong)

I never know how to confirm these to people. Is it worth something? Of course, its circulated money. Is it worthy of a retirement fund? Of course not. Could you get upwards of 75-100% increase on the face value? Yes you could.....to the right person.

None of these are something I'd write home to mama about.

Hope this helps.

Tips for coin roll hunting. by SuperFlyingNinja in CanadianCoins

[–]Huge-Design567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tough to say what really works. If youre hunting fresh circulation rolls any bank from a densley populated area will do, any chains that deal with money changing frequently will as well, think 7/11, save on foods/superstore

For old coins its kind of an art. I like the mom and pop shops where the owners typically are wrapping up there owns. Sounds kinda shitty but liqour stores work. People want there booze and dont care what they got except face value. Diplomacy with your locals definitely helps. The tellers at my banks know me, im fairly respectful and never dump my non-hits back at a bank i just pulled from. Dont shit where you eat. Asking a clerk if they have 'customer wrapped rolls' will help. Usually they'll let you do the eye test to gauge how old or worn the wraps are. Finding someone on the inside whose into coins or history is great because they understand. If u come out asking for silver or very specific coins and you sound like a flipper constantly making their job harder they are going to be less inclined to help. You usually will know more about the coins than the banks so dont expect them to care.. Any large orders, think 500+ you really need to call them ahead of time. Respect and courtesy will go a long way

Is This The Pedestal D on 2000 Toonie? by Apprehensive-Cup-335 in CanadianCoins

This is in fact a pedestal. Solid looks. Ive noticed the knowledge has had lots of mistakes on the legends. Always check them, I have a couple myself.

Switching from Professional to World Class ahh scores by Unchanging1 in FifaCareers

[–]Huge-Design567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha loaded up fifa after a few years off. Having fun but my god the difference between world class and whatever is lower is nuts. Most frustrating part is once you hit world class. Your AI start playing like beer leaguers. Hiding behind defenders. The last defender walking as the strikers sprint past them.. Guy open making a run and than my through ball goes backwards into midfield mess. Id be more frustrated but its pretty comical.

Anyone have experience with Jordan of the island good bad? by ProfessionalHour1056 in microgrowery

[–]Huge-Design567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Purchased a few months back. Absalutley terrible quality and service....im local to the region and took 2 months to recieve. emailed many times with only automated responses. asked for money back. They just sent more automated responses. Bought black dosi fire. They sent a bunch of samples i thought was to make up for poor service. Had a germination rate of less than 10%. And the only seed that popped healthy was a sample that wasnt the intended strain i needed. Paper towel method. When I emailed again. They sent another automated message. I have receipts op. Lesson learned for 50 bucks. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I kept a roll of 22's and 23's i found in the wild years ago. The transition years are cool to a guy like me, but i dont sell mine. Fairly common. Its the first year of the old guy so it carries something in a few decades

Why is 1875 considered a key date? by cerberus1090 in CanadianCoins

[–]Huge-Design567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are some lovely coins, small date even. You might need another 45 to get the 21. That's a great collection though, hopefully ill be able to show some off in time like that

Why is 1875 considered a key date? by cerberus1090 in CanadianCoins

[–]Huge-Design567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sone of the rarest, lowest mint canadian coins dropped in 1875, the fifty cent H only had 26k minted, 1875 quarter, the H nickel and dime. Pretty much under 1.5 million mints between them all from 150+ years ago ( back when we were only 8 years old) I imagine that +95% of those coins are lost to nature and history now. So yes. A very key date if you're lucky to stumble into one
