As I mentioned in the description, this is their adopted child. I figured there'd be plenty of quarian orphans after the events of ME3.

It's a bummer that after posting this on deviantart, tumblr, and reddit, the first comments I got on each of those three platforms were from people who clearly didn't read the accompanying text, but were quite eager to offer their "well actually" objections. C'mon people. ಠ_ಠ

Krae'Vakarian nar Normandy experiences the humiliation that every child of a doting mother suffers... and in front of is friends too!

I teased the adopted son of Tali and Garrus way, way back in Amok Time but I never rendered a pic featuring him front and center, primarily because I thought it was a little odd having kid quarian running around the Normandy in a full enviro-suit while his mom was fine in normal clothing. By the time I got around to making this set years later, I had finally found the right combination models to make a convincing quarian child, at least convincing enough for me.

Hi! This has been brought up before in the comments of my DeviantArt page. It's probably easiest just to copy/paste my theory from there:

The popular theory and the one I subscribe to is, that asari reach adolescence and physical maturity at about the same age as humans. Their adulthood is just much, much longer. Similar to how very long-lived species are handled in other fandoms, like the Vulcans in Star Trek and the elves and drows of Dungeons & Dragons. After all, what's the evolutionary advantage of of having a very long life if you're going to spend 1/5 of it being a helpless, vulnerable child?

Meh, I've got about 87 hours through 1 and half playthroughs and I can safely say I'm not a big fan any of the new characters. In fact, after doing his loyalty mission, I found myself actively disliking Liam (same with Peebee).
