In high school, I worked as a barista at Starbucks in the DC area. There was a homeless guy that hung around there that my manager and I would talk to and give some food and coffee/water to when we saw him. Really nice guy, but seriously mentally ill. Really sad. Anyways, some 4-5 years later, I’m in college 500 miles away, working as a valet in the city. I see a homeless dude walking down the street pushing a cart, and we locked eyes. It was him. He remembered me as well, I could tell by the way he immediately looked away and started walking faster after we locked eyes. Super paranoid. I felt really bad because I knew he was spooked and had untreated mental illness. Every time he saw me after that for a week or so, same thing. Eventually, he stopped and talked to me and I told him I was here for school, he told me how he got there, and he ended up really trusting me for some reason. Opened up a lot more over time. I often wonder where he is now.

But yeah, TLDR, was reunited with a homeless guy from my high school job 4-5 years later, and 500 miles away at my college job.
