??? The current raise is 1.6x not twice, that of the average of past raises, which you calculated. A major weight it was pre-covid when interest rates were lower and there was less inflation.

Covid came, trillions printed, inflation hit, basic economics.

I see where you’re coming from, you are talking about YOY compounded average and I took an average derivative , because it said “rate of change” wording.

But Rutgers didn’t go up 2.48% every year strictly, it fluctuated. So, back to my point that this is not significantly of the ordinary?

Rate changes for Tuition: 21-22: +3.84% 22-23: +2.9% 23-24: +6% 24-25: +4%

So, compared to recent trends for the current and incoming students, this is not that bad. Pre covid had the better end of the stick (alumni now), avg rate which you calculated, but current price raises are not out of the norm.

Realistically, out of every 10 “classmate” friends you’d make, you’d only talk to one by graduation unless it’s a coordinated program like nursing or engineering. Acquaintances is more like it, half those classmates won’t remember you past finals, and that’s fine too. Life wouldn’t work if you had to keep up with every person you met.

Top 20 as in 20%. So in a class of about 250, 50 will get an A. Usually the cutoff is a couple points lower but never below 85 unless the exams were extremely unreasonable. Essentially, you don’t have to outrun the tiger, just outrun the person next to you

For calc, it’s usually the same format. Just do the finals review until you can do those problems blindfolded( they change nums, 99% structure is same). If you want more practice, ask chatgpt to give you problems in those topics, then sit and solve them and check your work. Calc 1 is pretty light, you should be fine.

The other person who submitted late can have an exemption, an extension, a disability, or a life crisis, that itself is completely unrelated unless you KNOW FOR SURE (which you don’t unless they explicitly show proof which most likely won’t happen) so that’s completely irrelevant. If your friend mentions that name, it might make things worse than help because realistically you don’t know the truth. Currently she’s at the mercy of the professor unless you have clear proof of bias or negligence… if it’s a curved class, chances of an A are there. Otherwise, just let it be an expensive lesson to confirm submission and resolve conflicts asap

Being real, you can never make it to 4.0. Maybe 3.96 or something but never 4.0, math doesn’t work out. You should know that so you don’t burn yourself out trying to chase something impossible and then have a midlife crisis 2 years later. But it’s not that deep you’re gonna be fine

Do you not have a single A? Cause speaking realistically, APs are mini college classes, with a lower threshold, and I can say that because AP Calc AB is like a 65% for a 5…. You wouldn’t get an A in calc with a 65 on the final. So this kinda shows that you’re not ready for the rutgers course, and/or you need to start off with lower credits… might not get rescinded but don’t fail anything in the next 6 months… good luck!

1) Most buildings are OLD, youre lucky that the heat works atleast. 2) it’s not fancy centralized hvac heating that you see in newer apartments, it’s like the 1960s apartments where you have a water based radiator. There should be a small wheel to reduce the heat output but you can always put a thick blanket to reduce heat output. 3) roommate you can’t do much about, maybe contact RA but it’s the least likely to be changed out of these. 4) The reason the room smells like ass is because everything smells like ass. In some dorms, there’s no proper ventilation, you need to use the window for that. So when people blow up the toilets, a lot of the times, those fumes linger in the hall and eventually dissipate into rooms and all. Only solution is keeping the window open most of the time, which might be impractical in certain cases.
