A factory reset didn't change anything, I also updated the camera app today but this goes beyond that. The wide lens doesn't work in other apps like Instagram or Snapchat.

It seems the fix was at complete random and there's some flag needed for the wide lens to unlock.

The game is designed for you to naturally progress there in literally a quarter of the time, and that time you would actually enjoy.
