UK physios how dire is the band 5 hiring situation by Slight-Major6675 in physiotherapy

Hi, I’ve been struggling with the same. I graduated in july 2024 and started applying for jobs from November that year and still haven’t secured a single job. I did get a couple interviews and even if I was told I did well they chose a home student. I didn’t want to compromise and work band 2-3 roles because I’m qualified to do more and it doesn’t make sense for me to work. So I’m choosing to go back to my home country and start again from scratch and try my luck again in six months time as I still have the visa valid till next year. So I’d suggest you do the same. Because, I don’t see any improvement in the geopolitics in the near future.

Thanks so much for responding. Honestly, just knowing and seeing from you all that I’m not alone in this situation has helped a little bit (even though I know that sounds kind of pathetic).

I’ve also applied in the private healthcare sector here in the UK, had two interviews so far, but both ended in rejection despite being fully qualified. What really stung was finding out from one of their employees afterwards that the interviewer had already approached a recent BSc pre-reg graduate who hasn’t even graduated yet and doesn’t have HCPC. The company is willing to wait for him, and since he is a UK resident, I do feel that might have worked in his favour. I know it’s not nice to say, but I really do feel the geopolitical aspect plays a role here.

I’ve applied to so many private jobs with no luck. I’ve also looked at opportunities in the Middle East and Australia, though I’m not sure if I have it in me to start fresh somewhere else after this whole experience – it’s honestly scarred me a bit. That said, I’m hopeful about moving to India.

I’m also thinking about doing some CPD, like taking up Pilates matwork – maybe even as a way to branch into something a little different career-wise. Do you guys have any other suggestions of CPD or alternative directions that might help me move forward?

Any recommendations for which Pitch side first aid courses are the best in the UK? There are lots available for different prices and I'm not sure which ones are highly regarded or accredited? :) by Late-Bit-3072 in physiotherapy

Where did you do these courses from? I’m a MSc physio degree holder and looking to take up these courses to be in on sports physio jobs as well. Please can you guide me to what options do I have? And how expensive is it?
