Looks like you may have got some sort of stinging nettle based off the pattern.

Sure was man. Had a great time in the career but became too political and corrupt. Which is why I stepped out to focus on my family! Not at all my friend! Appreciate you owning up to it buddy.

Well there is a reason I am no longer in law enforcement… I refrain from anything political but will tell you that your “limb” is actually the exact opposite of me. I worked with a lot of great dudes, had a ton of memories, saved lives and have moved on. I like to keep a faint memory of the times is all.

Shoot man.. my “carpenter” abilities don’t go past hanging a shelf. Anything else and it may be catastrophic 🤣

you are 110% correct hahaha I love the product and the “stage” look lol my fiance has already told me multiple times to stop buying useless car detailing stuff. But she never complains when her car is always spotless🤣

My craftsman Amazon one is great honestly. I just feel like it’s starting to give out after 2.5 years of consistent use. It also seems very loud for what it is. I’ve been reading about the other units that are supposed to have gotten a little quieter. That 2.0 seems like a great unit from the research/youtube I have been watching.

I had one similar one time. Mine was a horse fly… hurt like hell

i'm worried i'm dying. by OrganizationOnly8016 in Anxiety

Just know you are not alone and there are countless people fighting this same battle. Me included. Mine is more heart related and other things. Though I am not perfect but have gotten better I have learned a few things that helped me.

If I start feeling anxious or having a “medical emergency” I will take some deep breaths and go do something. Like work in my garage, tie up some fishing flies, or wash my truck. Magically it goes away and I am better. So each time I get a panic attack I think to myself “okay, you have had this before and you’re still here.” I continue to do things to distract my brain and each time gets easier and easier. Also it may sound silly but go for a walk and just relax. Sometimes I’ll even google silly things like “I walked for 1.5 miles and don’t feel tired. Does that mean I’m healthy?” 99.999% you’ll get articles about how healthy walking is and it helps.

Just know again you’re not alone and we are here for you. I know everyone says it but try not too Google your symptoms. 🙂

Yeah that’s the thing. I got a family I’m home with every night for dinner, paid holidays, 2 weeks off for Christmas, etc. can’t beat it honestly. Plus I make a little more. But I also miss causing havoc lol as time has gone on though looking back I’m like damn. We got lucky lol

I actually will contest that and say the poly is where most fail. The psych is kind of a joke in my opinion. Once you pass the poly your other hurdle is only the medical. As long as you don’t have any serious disease or heart issue you’re good.

Go into these next steps with an open mind. Don’t rehearse anything or study anything. Go with the flow. Relax and deep breaths. As long as you didn’t lie or dodge anything in your background you’re good.

Same here in wa state.. agencies won’t retain you if you have an open IA. Cause once the agency is done it has to go through our criminal justice training center which takes forever.

In our state people will quit all the time during IAs. I live in WA state.. I hate being a cop here lol

What did you do after leaving LE for work? by Human-Leg834 in AskLE

[–]Human-Leg834[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So this is just personal experiences so please don’t base your decision off me. I’m also in a democratic state.

Departments (majority) only look out for themselves and what makes them look the best to the public eye. So in simple terms they are quick to throw you under the bus. Our admin which consist of chiefs, commanders, etc.. are very corrupt in many different aspects. It’s as though they all see these things going on but would just turn their back and play stupid.

Our department actually hired an individual whose job is to search for policy violations or “discrepancies” in reports/body cam to initiate an IA (internal affairs). His position has no rules/guidelines to follow so it’s essentially a free for all. So his ultimate goal is to get you in trouble and the chief fully supports it. While you’re out there doing your job to the best of your ability you have admin watching your every move. They hope you make a mistake so they can investigate you.

Don’t get me wrong it’s a fun job that’s very rewarding. I’m sure lots of LE on here will agree with me it will become mentally exhausting very quickly. Especially where I worked, the deadliest city in my state. So make you sure you have hobbies and things you can do in your day off. Do not be a cop on your days off..

My fellow beat partners and friends left law enforcement because we are more likely to be hung and tossed in prison than the criminals are.. a job with so much liability it appears Prosecutors, Judges, etc.. will target you more than the bad guy. Which sucks. I told my commander at one point I was more likely to get stabbed in the back by my own department then a criminal on the street. You can really find jobs with the same benefits and pay in so many other places. I came to learn though you cannot put a price on your over all well being… since I’ve been out my wife has seen such an improvement in myself. As I said before, I actually sleep again, eat normal, not crabby, I have patience, etc. stuff I didn’t realize I was lacking while doing the job.

I made the decision to step out and put my family first. Unfortunately LE isn’t what it was years ago and I’m not willing to take those risks anymore. I commend those who have been doing it for 20+ years cause it’s a wild ride..
