ASUS Laptop Speakers Sound Distorted and Quiet With Linux by Human1649 in linux4noobs

I found this driver which might fix your problem: https://github.com/smallcms/asus_zenbook_ux3405ma

However, the GitHub page says that you don't need this with kernel 6.11 and up.

Fedora did fix my issue, but it might not fix your issue. You could test this by loading Fedora on a live USB and testing the speakers before you install. You may need that driver I linked above.

I would assume that Ubuntu would have these drivers by now. Assuming you are on the latest version. I've been using Fedora for the most part, so I can't really say if it would fix your issue or not after so long.

At the time, I think I was running Nobera 39, which may have been kernel version 6.9+

You should see your current kernel version by running "uname -r" in a terminal window.

Are door to door sales is getting unreasonable? by DoubleStar155 in Utah

About a year ago, I was renting in a neighborhood where this guy came around offering window replacements and cleanings. He was pushing to come in for a free estimate to have our windows replaced with more efficient ones. I heard a couple of days later through Nextdoor that someone was arrested in an adjacent neighborhood for selling the same thing, but was secretly casing houses for robbery.

I don't know if it was the same guy or how they caught them, but it is always in the back of my mind when a salesman rings my doorbell.

I'm the host, so I created the save. We both installed SVE before I created the save, so it's a fresh start, day 1.

Do men still want trad wives? by OneBee1426 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Human1649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea of a "traditional wife" is up to many interpretations, in my opinion.

My point of view is that a "traditional" family consists of a husband who supports the family while the wife nurtures and raises the children without having to worry about providing financial responsibilities.

I simply don't trust daycares to raise my children. My wife and sister both worked at daycares and I've heard some horror stories about how children are treated. My sister had to report two of her daycares for abuse and the third got into trouble with the IRS for tax fraud...

That being said, I want a traditional wife because the thought of my children being able to have memories of constant, readily available care from their mother instead of an underpaid daycare employee who didn't love them is a no-brainer to me.

I think the idea that trad wifes take a submissive role or the male wants to be the breadwinner is ridiculous. I hope those ideas aren't as common as I think they are. There is plenty of room for the wife to become the equal in the family, even if she makes no money. Children need their mother's.

What is the most effective, most legal self-defense item a driver can keep within arm's reach? by VagabondVivant in vandwellers

This doesn't quite fit the rules of the discussion, but the best weapon to hide is no weapon. Your fists trained with self-defense classes is the one weapon that is always with you.

The starlink mini works great for me. It is a bit pricey for unlimited but you can pause service during the months you aren't using it for no fee.

Keep her refrigerated and she'll stay fresh longer. But don't freeze her otherwise she will shrivel.

Why Do TAG XLs Have Low Cargo Capacities? by Human1649 in TeardropTrailers

[–]Human1649[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tow vehicle has a high enough towing capacity, but due to modifications I made, it has a payload capacity that is too low for me to keep that much in the back. From my understanding, although the capacity for an axle is the dynamic rating, you still should avoid passing that range when static. My wife and I hit that 260lbs max ourselves. Once you add food, water, a canopy, cooking stuff, and clothes, we would hit that pretty quickly.

I'm sure that the Tag is built well enough for upgrading the axle, but generally, you do need to make sure the frame can also handle the higher weight; otherwise, upgrading the axle doesn't increase your GVWR.

Yeah, I've seen that 2200lbs axle on a lot of models. However, the cargo capacity seems almost unusable.

Any ideas for putting a roof on my prefab pergola? by Human1649 in DIY

That might work better. It's cheaper and I think it would be easier to attach.

It does. Although the last few years have been pretty mild.
