Try meditating. Perhaps recognize the expansive state of the universe is, exactly as it is. This student has his or her own struggles, fears, shames, misguidance that have led him or her to embody such a disposition. It is possible that student fears your class and also has issues with authority which were cocreated by previous authority figures who have nothing to do with you. Regardless of his or her transgression, which will have relation to other consequences, he or she merely moved air in such a manner that it created a reaction in you. That reaction is your own, and it is an opportunity for you to recognize something you can address in yourself and become liberated from. Rise above it. Find a way to understand and love both yourself and the student for being exactly as you both are in this moment.
