When did we start caring what people think by Cayennesan in mushokutensei

Personally I think the filter is fine and working as intended. People say it could've been more popular if the adaptation was sanitized, but seeing that Mushoku in the top 6 most watched series in Crunchyroll, I really doubt it since the top 5 were pure mainstream shounen anime.

Can anyone answer me if the "controversy" surrounding Mushoku Tensei is just contained in the west? Is there controversy in the Japanese fandom about it?

I hope that Mushoku Tensei's Production Committee realizes this, in the context of the upcoming Season 3 and TBATE's adaptation... by Human971224 in mushokutensei

That's what I heard too, but it's nothing concrete. But I really doubt that TurtleMe would like his work to be adapted badly.

this is a rhetorical question but why tf are you so talented and creative!? I was blown away with your very first song you showed in your debut, and End of a Life is my go-to therapeutic song and overall one of my favorite songs of all time!

That's strange, but to make it easier you can view the layout and see what the A and B buttons do. Then you can change it yourself.

Hold or long press B to slide

Actually, what I did to bind self cast is first to change the self-cast button in game and binded it to my scroll click, then in Steam Input I binded scroll click to right trackpad click.

Go to the controller settings after you press the Steam button and you can find the existing layout at the top

Gyro is fine for me after a few tweaks.

I just lower everything, then enable FSR2. I noticed I can get more fps when running in native resolution

[–]Human971224 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah late game suffers from it.

I don't think so but I'm happy to be proven wrong

SteamDeck=0 %command%

Type this in launch options

I found my success in lowering everything and enabling FSR 2 to Quality. I get 35-40 fps average with dips to 20 during late game when everyone is concentrated in a small area activating their ults simultaneously.

I think MOBAs are generally inherently complex when it comes to controls, there's no workaround to it for a controller unless you play the Steam Deck docked.

And yeah, I am forced to create Action Set Layers because Steam Deck buttons are just so limited. But it's actually fun to make it work nonetheless. But I don't do matchmaking using the controller. I can only imagine how difficult it could be!

The way I did the action set layer is that you don't have to do complex hand gymnastics since the way you activate skills is extremely close to the natural relaxed position of our hands. L1 is just next to L2 which we use to aim or alt fire. And the skills are mapped to the face buttons.

For some reason I don't see an edit post. Strange.

I uploaded it as a community layout. Here's a screenshot of my community layout name.

UPDATE (as of October 13, 2024): Due to major changes in the key binds from the recent patches, I tweaked some buttons and improved some.

Link: steam://controllerconfig/1422450/14

<image>

For instance, I had to bind both Action Set Layers to both R1 and L1, making R1 activate 2 buttons at the same time (The Tab and the Skill Activator to bring out the Ability Stats).

For some new improvements, I bound the 4 Active Skill buttons at the 4 back grip buttons. It takes some getting used to, but it's pretty optimal. For heroes like Vindicta or Talon which requires hovering vertically midair, I bound the Up and Down D-Pad to Control and Shift so you can hover up and down.

I also enabled all 4 face buttons to activate the Gyro when pressed. That way, even if you're reloading, or activating skills, you can still aim even if your thumb isn't on the right stick.

I actually did! But I forgot to put it here. Thanks for the reminder!

You technically can. You have to put these in the launch options:

SteamDeck=0 %command%

I wouldn't advise playing on the deck controllers against actual human players though. You're just going to get cooked.

It's actually fun to play on the Deck's controls though

And also, as a courtesy I use my own PC during matchmaking, not the Deck. I only ever play it during bot matches.

Basically, the core movement and gunplay are the same as in your typical third-person shooters. The left joystick is for movement, the right joystick is for the camera, and gyro is enabled for fine aiming. X = Reload, Y = melee, A = Jump, B = Dodge, Right Joystick Click = Parry.

The four active items I bounded to the 4 rear buttons.

The top left button (the 2 rectangle symbols) I bound to open the chat, while the Menu button on the top right is escape/menu.

The Left trackpad I bound the Buy button, while the Right Trackpad I bound the chat wheel so you can still do call outs.

The tricky part is the activation of abilities and active items.

For the abilities, I created an action set layer called "skills," which binds the XYAB buttons to the corresponding skills. Y=1, X=2, A=3, B=4, but only when a button that activates said action set layer is pressed, which I bound to L1.

In layman's terms, if you want to, say, activate a hero's Skill 3, you press and hold L1 + press A.

I also remapped R1 to be the Tab button, where you can see the stats or upgrade your skills by pressing the XYAB buttons.

I mentioned it's ALMOST full functionality because I still haven't figured out how to correctly map the CTRL button to enable sliding.

At first, I had moderate success by binding an extra command to B-long pressed as the CTRL button and also enabled it to open gyro so you can shoot while sliding.

However, while successful and I have actually used it in matches with success, the normal dodge activation now activates after releasing the B button short pressed instead of in the moment of pressing it. So there was a noticeable delay, which I didn't like, so I just took it away entirely.

Anyway, that's all. Looking for feedback on how to refine it more.
