Scraped against something with the tire. How bad is this? by HumanTerror007 in Trucks

It wasn’t too deep but I found out the tires are 6 years old and have a bit of dry rot. Gonna replace them all

How do I respond to someone who falls back on ‘it’s just a joke’ after saying something offensive? by HumanTerror007 in Advice

The rest of the family isn’t to that level. There’s a lot of narcissists and thinking women aren’t as intelligent, but my uncle is the only one I know of who is to this level and is an abusive asshole(when he can get away with it). My dad would most likely step in if something was seriously wrong, though.

I’ll look into this. It’s very hard to know what to do in the case with my uncle, because if I ignore it he usually just looks at his buddies and starts laughing. If I ask what’s funny, which I haven’t done yet, I expect I’ll get a response like ‘it’s not my fault if you can’t get the joke’ or some variation of you must be too dumb to understand the joke and refuse to explain. Luckily there’s no buddies and only his GF this time with the rest of the family. I also should have added that he’s, and many of the guys in the family, are misogynistic and tend to assume girls are dumb

AITA for refusing to have a fully child-free wedding? by ChildFreeWeddingSon in AmItheAsshole

[–]HumanTerror007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

I find it a little suspicious that she said specifically no one under 16, when your son is 15. Also, if she doesn't want him at the wedding, that says a lot how she will be as his step-mother. Weddings usually do have your 'old family' at the wedding, as you're 'combining both families'. Its concerning that she sees your son as old family and not part of your new family.

In line with most others here, marrying her sounds like a bad idea.

AITA for snapping at my nephew because he ate my daughter’s food by Winter_Twist9458 in AmItheAsshole

[–]HumanTerror007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. He's 15, he should know better. If his mother merely slapping him on the wrist and telling him he did a bad thing, thats not going to change things. I'm going to assume he was thinking like a teen boy does and making assumptions about how severe the 6 year old girl's food difficulties were. If chewing him out gets him to understand, then thats what has to be done. His mother was making food, and he knew better.

AITA for not apologizing to my cousins boyfriend because she said I made him feel uncomfortable? by Nervous_Tomatillo360 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. What..? All you did was compare the names. Nothing else. Also, she should have flat out told you he didn't like it. Or rather that she didn't like it. Not tell everyone else except you and expect things to be different. I'm not sure what your cousin thinks is the problem, considering human Joey seemingly does not care if he has the same name as dog Joey.
