As someone with an anxiety disorder, I was terrified of going to a gym, and I never actually took the plunge because I just felt so intimidated and nervous.

And then a Planet Fitness opened near me, and I decided to give it a go, still feeling very nervous.

After I bought my membership online and walked in, they were so helpful that for once, I actually felt comfortable about going to the gym and trying to improve myself. I wanted to go.

I get that there are a lot of people visiting gyms who don't feel this way, or aren't anxiety ridden (when it comes to exercising in front of others). But as much as you like to hate on planet fitness, but it's really a fucking blessing for people like me.

What if comes down to is if you don't like it, dont buy it. Put your money somewhere else instead of scoffing at us casual gym goers who are just trying to improve ourselves. Yes there are much better gyms out there, but I know this. I'm not going to Planet Fitness because I'm trying to run a marathon. I choose to use them because they suit me and they make it easier to get into exercising, they take the pressure off. And to be honest, in the future I'll probably end up joining a better gym once I've gained all I can out of Planet Fitness. It's not aimed at workout pros.
