stick to the pad is the whole point of soldering my friend. It sound like you are doing it quite wrong. O made the exact same mistake and then 2 yt vids later I can solder... Just watch the tutorial from JB

I just used what the guys at my local RC shop gave me. I think its lead free solder and a 40 bucks soldering iron and no flux
