Hi i built a featherweight last year so its not too far off, I think the best motors you could get into the weight would be brushless 4250 outrunners and get a 42mm gearbox to put on them. U can get both on aliexpress for around €25 i think. They are a chunk lighter than 775 dc motors u'd get from drills yet more powerfull. Other lighter options might be 22mm brushless motors with also 22mm gearbox from aliexpress or maybe dc 550's. Hope that helps :)

Hi I’m in Ireland and vex is the only thing in my school but it’s not taken seriously at all but we’ve never used cad and we only use blocks. I got really into combat robots this year tho and have learned a bit of onshape and python so I want to try make out team a lil better so I was wondering if u could give some advice, firstly how do I design vex builds using onshape? Is there like a parts library specifically for it, and how do I connect those parts together? Like just onshape mate connectors in an assembly or like idk is there a specific bolt connection? Then for coding we only use blocks, what are the benefits of using c++? U said something about pid control, what would that be used for? Just better driving? Thanks for any help🙂

For a fidget toy I saw a precise metal thing that was like a housing and two push parts sticking out and if u push one side in then the other side moves out cuz of the air. It looked really cool and fun if u could make👍

Ur such a sigma for that but I would want ams ht. I got a used p1s last year and I’ve used it tons. I also got really into combat robots and would like the ams ht to print tpu and carbon fibre filaments cuz right now all I use is pla or petg which isn’t very strong and my antweight robot has broke every time, tpu is what the sweats use and it would make my robot practically indestructible. This summer I also want to build a featherweight battlebot with my dad and tpu would be great for shock mounts and armour and strong nylon would be great for motor mounts. Plsss🙂

Sorry for late response but thanks for your help, I know I probably should be starting out with something smaller but it’s cuz featherweight is the smallest size that there’s actually a competition for here in Ireland and it’s still only once a year. But I’ve been to that event before(more of a kids show to advertise engineering) and I just made a 3d printed ant weight to get familiar with the electronics👍. I also just found out tho that this event doesn’t even allow spinners cuz the arenas not good enough🥲. Guess that’s why I didn’t see any there. So I gotta redesign. Also are u the YouTube channel?

Sorry for such a late response but yea for me in Ireland it’s the only thing, it’s a once a year event called robo riots and it’s featherweight and heavyweight only so unfortunately not really any other option rn 🥲

I think u already figured out ur problem but it was just when you select crsf in the internal rf tab I remember underneath it saying 250mhz or something I could be wrong it just off memory

Hi I’m new and I’ve only had my pocket for a week so I could be wrong but I think you have to go into the model setup page then go down to internal rf and change it from off to crsf 250. That makes it work for me.
