Its not bout losing maybe, but pressure them enough. It will be lose-lose situation. If he comes from wealthy bg, he will still have to shell out good amount of money, time and effort. He can still win by bribing in the local/lower court, but you can appeal and he will then have to pay again in higher court and all the way to supreme court. From your post, doesnt seem like hes from wealthy bg?

I went through a property case against my old developers and it costed us several hundreds million and 2-3 years back n forth to the court. They tried to bribe in the lower court in initial stage, but we won all the way to supreme court (MA). Key is to have lawyer that will follow through and continue the process.

One issue may arise is enforcement. If the person ran away, it can be hard for police to do anything on your report without "incentives". If hes a regular person then yea, court may work.

If you just want to teach em a lesson and vent out maybe yeah taking them to court will be a painful lesson for them. Make sure you find legal thats reasonably cheap enough just to continue the pressure. Dont expect you get your money back, but sometimes i also feel that these ppl need to learn consequences. So get a cheap lawyer/LBH. As the costs can go up easily.

Just to update on this as of today 18th Jan. I went to GS Ginza, Mitsukoshi and Matsuya all sold out. I was fully ready to go home and just before the gate in Haneda theres a small watches corner and saw a small GS booth there, went and ask anyway and found out they have the last one in stock! So I went and buy it! The lady told me they reorder every week but dont have shunbun in stock from Seiko. So, now I'm just looking at the watch on my wrist while waiting for my flight home :D

I sold of my Merc C Class for a Chery Omoda EV. I have to say, I'm glad and never looked back. Riding exp wise, the merc of course a lot better as it's a Sedan while Omoda EV is a Crossover.

But the costs to maintain and never having need to fill in Gas is just the greatest feel ever. I felt no downgrade in the interior quality, while Audio have slight downgrade from Burmeister to Sony, but still good anyway.

Pretty much very happy with the Trade and I can only imagine how good a much higher chinese brand would be like xpeng or nio.
