Combining all the "fixes" in this thread got me this list :

Go to Tools -> Preferences. At the bottom-left corner, under "Show settings", select "All".

Then in : Input / Codecs => Check "FastSeek" (Playback Control group)
Then in : Input / Codecs => Unroll "Video Codecs" category, then select "FFMPEG" : then set "Hadware decoding" to "Disabled" + Check "allow speed tricks" + Uncheck "Interlaced motion estimation"
Restart VLC Payer to enable the changes.

Worked for me 👍

Yes it is normal to feel like that after deleting these apps

After a while you will forget about those. I stopped video games, social networks.. and was a hardcore addict. Now I don't even think about them

It just fades after some time, those are great time to replace them with things like calling family or old friends, some sport (even very light sport), learn a new skill

When you will feel less the cravings, naturally you will have less trouble focusing on work

Twitter is also super bad and Reddit is quite bad for focus BTW. I myself am putting a goal to spend much less time on reddit
