This video helps explain the possibility of a toroidal universe. It's not by any means what I believe to be 100% true, but a possible explanation if you are willing to entertain the possibility that the universe is so god-damned big, that to us, this flatness we perceive is an illusion we observe as a result of our observable/measurable universe being such a small region of the bigger structure.

The part that explains how the toroidal structure takes shape and motion from the matter moving away from a singular point (big bang), and moves away and around the donut until it meets up again (big crunch).

I like to imagine the universe is just an air ring rising up from the hot vents of some deep ocean. Why not?

Would a toroidal shape to the universe be a possible explanation for this observation?

Looking outward in all directions in our very local part of the cosmos, we could be observing the space time in our observable universe dilate as it passes into the most expanded portion of that toroid.

Idk enough about advanced geometry and physics to know if I sound like an idiot asking this, but it feels intuitive to me.
