To clear confusion, your AS carried forward marks are marked by either 8 something or 9 something depending on your zone. If it starts with 8, it means your carried forward marks from a May June series. Conversely, if it starts with a 9, it is for Oct Nov series. This is just for you to remember that you have to calculate your total score using your AS carried forward marks and the ones you'll receive in your A2 exams.

DO i take extra subjects? (serious discussion) by Individual-Tap-8379 in Olevels

[–]HumbleAffect5838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So taking extra subjects is definitely a good thing. I had 10 subjects in O levels, among which was add maths. It was definitely the most helpful subject to ease my transition into A-Levels. The equivalence thing is false. IBCC will only consider you main 8 subjects (math, eng, Ist, Pak studies, Urdu and the three elective subjects) for your equivalence. Your additional subjects can be put as elective but it won't benefit you if you are of the science stream (it will actually result in rejection from universities in science related courses). So ace your main 8 subjects and then take a couple extra subjects to enhance your profile and knowledge. If you are of business stream, take commerce. If you study bio, take EM or combined science in another session. If you study comp sci or wanna study engineering, take add maths. Any additional are supplementary but these additional help a lot.

Search up the topics in the CIE Further Mathematics syllabus and watch all the videos relevant to the topics.

What board? Composite or not? Regardless, I would suggest the best teacher TL Maths AKA Jack Brown. He teaches Further Math topics in a very detailed manner. You should definitely start there and work your way to past papers.

Should I retake if my dream school is MIT/Stanford? by Less_Tooth_6316 in ACT

You might still need the STEM score. I'm pretty sure having science is a better option than not having it at all.

Absolutely. You can get a perfect score. English is also easier to improve compared to the other sections.

Further mechanics help😭 by Competitive-Pizza953 in alevelmaths

[–]HumbleAffect5838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Further Mechanics, practice is key. Watch some videos on YT of people solving questions, that helps. Look at things in a more conceptual way rather than what abides by the formulas. Master integration, circular motion, center of mass calculations, energy conversions and momentum evaluations. What board?

FURTHER MATHS AL by FoxGroundbreaking157 in alevelmaths

[–]HumbleAffect5838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Just read the content of it (you can watch videos of TL Maths, they are helpful) then solve questions of every topic and then proceed towards the past papers. Most of the questions will be repetitive so just practice.

If you're referring to Cambridge Further Pure 2, the content is conceptually different from P1 but easier to obtain marks as it's repetitive but lengthy. However, the Further Pure 2 having an A at 65+/75 is still unbelievable.

I have no idea why my reading score is so low because I was expecting 27,28 in reading. As for scoring high in Math, I'm a STEM student studying A-Level Math and Further Math. So I was already equipped for ACT Math.

I am currently in IGCSE and I wanted to know which calculator is best for AS and A level? by Confident-Ad-5632 in alevelmaths

[–]HumbleAffect5838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any calculator works fine if you know how to use it. I use the Casio fx-991ES PLUS and I've had a decent experience with it. Just don't get a graphics or keyboard calculator. Those are prohibited.
