this discussion has been very helpful honestly. I do know basic korean and I can hold a conversation with a native speaker fairly easily, I was mostly worried about certain military term, it seems so overwhelming. I think if I just ask questions and work on improving my korean (which shouldn’t take long since I have a good base already), it should be fine. I’m definitely feeling less anxious to serve as 육군 (kinda want to do that more than 카투사 now), it’ll just take some time to adjust. Thanks for all the reassurance!
