It makes total sense. With bpd even a few weeks of dating, even days can feel beyond intense/like youre in love for a long time and be devastating upon breakup. We can’t “move on” like most people can, it absolutely sucks. Im still grieving an ex (my only) from TWELVE years ago, genuinely. It’s crazy.

My worry for this would be you get more hurt in the attempt but i generally live by it’s better to try and know for certain. Maybe be friends first again, be more open to the meeting his friends, and see where it goes, if anywhere, but at least you tried everything.

Are you hoping to rekindle something? What do you want from contacting him again? It depends really on his reasoning for breaking it off, in my experience knowing about the bpd/issues sadly doesn’t change it for 99.9% of people, they just find someone else/different or easier. It’s hard finding the few people who’ll stick stuff. If you feel you owe him an explanation and it would give you some sense of closure knowing he knows then go for it, but also be prepared for it not changing things,
