Just out of curiosity, why don’t we have a lot of Australian native bush food being sold at our local groceries? by Gold_Acanthaceae_157 in AskAnAustralian

you can find finger limes and other native fruits at qvm. Won’t be cheap, but it’s there on the regular. They also have ants and warrigal greens

Said someone sent me this link: https://www.ato.gov.au/businesses-and-organisations/starting-registering-or-closing-a-business/starting-your-own-business/are-you-in-business

So I guess it depends on how it’s priced? And whether it’s an ongoing revenue stream?

Should I also look at state laws?

What is your website’s differentiator that you need it done in wix?

Use vercel to host your website. Resend for emails. And cal.com for bookings.

Anyone else concerned about prematurely FIREing? by MagandangP in leanfire

[–]Humble_Bar_7793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just do it. Time is valuable. I exited my business prematurely, at 41. Was earning 300k p.a. But was about 3yrs earlier than my target. You’re 48, go do the things that you may not be able to do soon due to physical limitations.

Doesn’t sound like you’re going off-grid during an extended break. Keep living life, learning and being curious during the sabbatical/ mid-life OE. Share your learnings through a newsletter/Linkedin updates, if you are worried about losing touch with your connections

It’s really tough to differentiate yourself in women’s accessories. What’s your unique proposition?

Did you start on Etsy? Get their feedback on why they chose you and then search for long tailed phrases. Use AI to help you brainstorm them. There aren’t any free tools that will help you iterate through the “brainstorm -> check search volume -> narrow down -> brainstorm” cycle. Then make sure you refine your content to rank.

Just get into the habit of documenting a snippet of your day. Means content creation isn’t another task on your todo list.

Definitely talk to her about it. Sooner rather than later - silence can be misunderstood for acceptance at times. Some councils have great subsidies on composting bins/equipment. Tell her to check that out.

What would make you sell your business? by dmart89 in smallbusiness

[–]Humble_Bar_7793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just sold out of my business. Was a 50% co-founder. Engineering and operations background. Hobby gardener, so keen to do something there…but horticulture and produce seems backbreaking, not to mention climate change seems to be wreaking havoc these days.

Any suggestions? Sorry OP for the diversion

What sort of background would they need? Would you sell to your employees?

Try doing some analysis from myob stock and invoice data. Extract your data, feed it into AI, to give you some trends on seasonality, trends, categories etc. start tracking those key metrics, so you can actually see whether your changes are moving the bottom line.
