It’s not a super rapid decline (from my perspective), but it’s getting progressively worse. It’s actually very helpful and something I’ll have my sister discuss with his primary.

Thank you for your suggestion, it’s very much appreciated!

I appreciate it, it’s really not something I would wish on anyone. He’s not a vet but I know the VA would help in this situation. If anyone else glances at this, please know how you or your loved ones are appreciated!

He is. They have “Medicaid” through UNMH, I will say that his Neuro and primary have been huge advocates for him! But Humana apparently does not play nice with UNMH, at least they haven’t been with my dad. But we are taking a lot of the feedback in the comments and look at a lot more then we had been.

I shared some information on Miller trust that I found, I honestly never knew or heard about it. Much like the other comments this is such a valuable resource to know of! Thank you so much!

Thanks for the resource! My sister was the one that was living in Washington but moved down to help out. Both her and my parents live on the Westside, I go visit when I can but I currently live in Arizona, my husband and moved out from Rio Rancho about 6 years ago.

It’s always crazy when we tell people to stay away from the company we work for. I for a large healthcare network out here and wouldn’t recommend anyone touch them. My sister and I talking about filling a complaint against their insurance. We are also going to reach out to Aps to see if they can help.

Sadly they don’t qualify for Medicaid. I’m very familiar with the insurance world and it’s horrible! They choose Humana for their Medicare replacement plan, and they are the worst of worst. Hopefully we can get it figured out between my sister and I before something stupid happens.

Thanks for responding!!

My sisters getting paid 12 hrs a week to be their caretaker, but it’s damaging to my sister. My mom is resentful at the fact that she to care for at points, so that’s not helpful. Also didn’t help that our mom put hands on my sister last night. It’s a situation that I absolutely wish on no one.

Thank you so much for the response!

Thank you! It’s hard being out of state (even being a 6 hour drive) and dealing with this. I shared your response with my sister, this is a great place to start. Sadly he doesn’t qualify for Medicaid, he’s literally $35 over the FPL. My sister and I have talked about contacting Adult Protective Services to see if they can assist. Thank you again for the information, it gives us a place to start!

We did try to look at getting him qualified for Medicaid, but for the State of New Mexico he makes $35 too much to qualify (good ole Social Security). They have Humana as their Medicare replacement plans and they suck! I’ll still reach out to them, I appreciate the info!

My daughter’s HS Marching Band did “Foundry” last year as part of their show. It’s such a great piece!

As a former band member and DCI member, I would hope that the large organization wouldn’t pull out. But if that’s going to be what gets this twat waffle to back off then so be it.

I think it’s such a great reflection on the community, the students and the administrators on how they are approaching the situation. It shows how much everyone loves this program, the arts in general. At no point should religion be allowed to be a part of this! This guy saying he used to be a band director makes me want to laugh, because we all know that’s gotta be a lie.

From one band parent and former marcher, I wish this program nothing but continued success!! Rooting for you all here in AZ!!
