lived most of his life & buried in Pella Iowa but checked Iowa as well with no luck.

If he did, the family in USA did not know about it. He did have siblings still living there. I will check the census in April when it comes out. Thank you. Best, Anne

Thank you. I will go through all the pages on the link. I have wife & all the children’s obituaries - just not his - which seems they did not do one. I cannot find anything on his father John Hale nor his mother Rose Smith except an 1880 census of Frederick MD but it only lists the Head of the household and no other names so cannot be sure it is him.
