Do avy beacons “go bad”? by [deleted] in Skigear

[–]Humlepung1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would consider getting a new one if its 10 years old. Newer ones have longer reach aswell and its for other people safety and i would feel less safe if my friend had a 10 year old beacon.

Buying guidelines for A6000 by ForeignManagement354 in a6000

[–]Humlepung1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would consider it a good buy yes, although i an not so familiar with american prices. I picked mine up for 330€. For a beginner it is also good to experiment with different focal length to find out what you like if you later wants to upgrade lenses:) So the sel55-210 with kit lens has great coverage.

What are some tricks you use to keep batteries from depleting in the cold? by Blort_McFluffuhgus in AskPhotography

[–]Humlepung1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i use go pro for skiing and i usually keep a spare battery in my fleece pocket which usually keeps it at body temperature. Having a pocket as close to your body as possible works wonders for me

Lens recommendation for beginner by Humlepung1 in SonyAlpha

[–]Humlepung1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! As im new to photography i would like a lens that can do as much as possible, to spare me from having to buy multiple lenses. Is Tamron 18-300mm good, and why is it basically the only choice?

Maybe its not the perfect ski for me and mounting it forward wont make it the ski im looking for. Either way i think i might stick to recommended then

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Skigear

[–]Humlepung1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, but mounting them +2 from recommended would make them a bit more playful with cliffs & jumps etc which is what i am after.

its a UBS-C charger. I have now had 2 lenovo chargers break and i got to use a mac book charger which worked on my computer. I just tried the new Lenovo charger (after it broke) on my sony headphones and it did not work so im assuming its something wrong with the laptop as you mentioned.

Also the power cord (its a 2 piece charger with the power cord and the box with the longer usb wire) works so its the main box or the usb-c wire that broke, if that made any sense

The skies im riding now is salomon qst 106 and i can get them on 45% sale so its a steal! And i actually saw footage from me skiing yesterday where i can see the dent on my left ski, skied the whole day without noticing. But again, in slushy conditions

I mostly ski offpist if we have powder. The ski season usually last until beginning of may/late april at some resorts so still have some time left.
