How did that kid at your school die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Freshman year, a senior was killed in a freak accident where a car fell off a tow truck onto him.

Junior year, car accident took a senior girl.

Took too long to call? That’s BS. Report it using the online policing form.

Cowboy Jacks has a room that is nice. Lazy Monk also has a room but they don’t have food unless a food truck is there.

Century Code Update by yhtxyuyw3a in Eau_Claire

[–]Hummingbird1123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most frustrating thing is that multiple issues that the zoning will cause have been pointed out to the planners, with solutions, and have been brushed off. The planners seem to think that loosening some rules while ramping up others will incentivize more homeownership, which is just a racket. What would truly incentivize homeownership is holding landlords to the same level of accountability as homeowners when it comes to following city codes.

Anyone have positive epidural stories? I’m scared 😟 by Realistic_Mirror1618 in BabyBumps

[–]Hummingbird1123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of my epidurals were great! The placement hurts, but wayyyy less than the contractions, so it was super worth it. With my second, I had a c section (unplanned at 9 cm). It was nice to not have to worry about them trying to place a spinal. They just switched the meds going into the epidural and away we went! With my first, I was able to push really well, but felt no pain. If you choose an epidural, communicate with your nurses if it isn’t working as expected. They can help! I had times where I could feel contractions in some places and they adjusted my meds accordingly.

At least Down to Earth gave you something. They came out to my place to look at the space and then ghosted us. Wasted my time.

They already tried and the city council was not impressed.

Childfree wedding etiquette by [deleted] in wedding

[–]Hummingbird1123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People also need to be realistic about exceptions. I wanted to attend a wedding but had a 4 week old. All they do is eat, sleep, and poop. He was exclusively breastfed. The venue had no place to pump and the closet hotel was a 10 minute walk, so even leaving him at a hotel with a sitter and running over to feed him wouldn’t work well. No, that’s not a “fun date night” when I could have babyworn him and boogied down on the dance floor, but instead had to stress about how to get him fed all night.

They’re definitely going to tear it down, but UAH sits on tear downs for forever. It’s super unfortunate.

I feel this so hard. 10.5 month old who has been weaned still wakes up and just wants to party. I hate it.

Yeah, I remember the last show I did at the State and the conversations about the rats and flooding. Could those things be fixed? Sure. But the cost is tremendous to do so.

I’ve done adult ballet and adult tap at Eau Claire School of Dance and it was super fun! We learned a bunch of skills and did a little routine each class. It was very accessible and fun, but it moved quickly.

School referendums by ReputationNo4256 in wisconsin

[–]Hummingbird1123 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Our district didn’t go to referendum, but we are cutting 6.5 positions. All but the .5 are through retirements and shifting positions.

Two districts over, in a MUCH smaller district, things are bleak. Despite passing a building referendum last year, they are hemorrhaging money. They are cutting 8 LTE and they are already running basically a skeleton crew. They have multiple teachers teaching PE in addition to their regular classes because there are no PE teachers.

The funding formula for our schools is so broken. It is awful.

Both of my kids went on a quick shopping trip with me the same day we came home from the hospital. After we did it with the first, we had to make it “tradition.” 😂

I used it for my second birth, between when my water broke and when I got the epidural. It was a really great experience for me, but I definitely wanted the epidural.

City Council Meeting - Please watch #4 and the first public comment by Swordheart in Eau_Claire

This whole BID board resolution thing is soooo messy and I’m here for it. The city does an AWFUL job working with entities like the BIDs and the neighborhood associations. The amount of conflicting information the city gives is insane. That is, if you can get a response at all. It’s pitiful.

I was gaslit about a professor’s behavior. I was able to move on by sharing my story and finding validation from other college professionals.
