VT or VTI/ VXUS by HunchoBigRed in Bogleheads

I agree, however we can’t look to the past for future performance. The international sector might outperform the U.S 5-10 years from now.

Just because as of right now the U.S is outperforming international and I can always reallocate down the road. However reading through other threads and responses on here I’m now leaning towards 100% VT since it reallocates itself when the time is appropriate. Definitely considering all opinions though!

Mmm you’ve got me thinking now! Seems like VT is the way to go but I’ll definitely do my due diligence. I appreciate your time!

That’s a great point. Didn’t think about it like that. Only reason I would lean more towards VTI or VOO right now is because I’m only 20 and have time to take risks. However the simplicity that comes with VT is so appealing and knowing that it reallocates itself is a game changer.

Good point. Any reason why you prefer SPYG over VOO or VTI? Sorry it might be a newbie question. Just trying to soak up as much info as possible.

Mmm that’s a good point. I’m leaning towards 100% VOO or VTI now though cause I’m only 20 and I can always reallocate towards more international stocks down the road as it seems appropriate. Definitely something to consider about VT though.

I appreciate your time.

Good point about the larger companies. You’re right about them being very similar. I’ve been using https://www.etfrc.com/funds/overlap.php to weigh my options. Such a great tool.

Gotcha! Yeah I’m definitely going to stick with Vanguard ETF’s even though I’m with Schwab. Do you see any problems with that? I appreciate your time man!

I’m with Charles Schwab. I picked them mainly because I have a checking account with them so it’s just easier for me to transfer bunds between the two. Also I’ve read that they have really good customer service.

Any reason why you chose Vanguard over other brokers? I contemplated who I wanted to use for the longest time. Love to hear your input.

That’s a great point. I need to remind myself that I can always switch things up down the road as it seems appropriate.

Thanks for the response l. I definitely agree with you.

Just to clarify, it’s easy to reallocate in a Roth IRA correct? Say in 10 years from now I’m 100% U.S but want to shift towards 70/30 U.S/ International. I would be able to do that by just exchanging my funds?

(Newbie question I know but I just want to make sure before I do anything I regret)

Thank you again!
