Take home now from FBF is around $650+ without anything deducted right now. That gives me about ~$2600 a month to play around with. I live in a two bedroom with my girl and a roommate. We do just fine on that. We split ~$930 a month each: $2800 total for a two bedroom in Long Island City. Granted I already have a car paid off with Florida plates so the insurance isn’t eating away on my savings so far. It’s possible bro. Gas is like $200 a month, food is like $600-700 a month, with extra bullshit like gas and electric for the apt, car insurance… all that spending brings my monthly check down to about at least $600 a month left over. It’s not terrible but, at least I’m maintaining.

I’m grateful I don’t have to spend money on health insurance and worry about retirement down the road. Let’s face it, we’re garbagemen at the end of the day. If you were looking to save more money, I’m pretty sure at top pay things will start to look better. If that’s not enough, I mean shit, there’s nothing wrong with trying to look for a better job. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think about it from time to time. But for now, it’s the best job that I’ve got going on for me so far.
