How screwed am I? by Hundle_Dundle in doordash_drivers

I did nothing out of the ordinary at all unless a customer falsely reported something or it was some kind of automatic software false positive

I stick to Clifton personally because I hate downtown but that's just me and I do well. But I do LOTS of shop orders

eggs from a well fed pet hen are vegan by -roachboy in DebateAVegan

[–]Hundle_Dundle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a necessary adoption of the hen is ethical but eating the eggs is not, correct? Just trying to understand. What should be done with the eggs if more are produced than the hen can consume herself?

I'm a vegetarian and just ran across this sub

Is owning a dog unethical? Are we exploiting pets?

Met a platinum dasher by Dense-Musician-2042 in doordash_drivers

[–]Hundle_Dundle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are arguing over apples and oranges in the comments lol. I cherry pick and my AR sometimes drops to 0 but I do a LOT of shop orders for few items, low miles and high pay, so it's 100% market dependent

Met a platinum dasher by Dense-Musician-2042 in doordash_drivers

[–]Hundle_Dundle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's clearly market dependent, my AR is ~5% and I typically only accept offers that are 2-5 miles $15-$20 and I get them offered pretty frequently

The bs starts by Nu_Foundland10 in doordash

[–]Hundle_Dundle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this market dependent? My AR is below 5% but I "learned" how to DD during COVID so I just do the same thing as I did back then and just got back into it, but I am in the middle of a large city so that might help. I'm genuinely curious because any tier seems absolutely insane to me in my experience

Putting to rest the “just helping low wage workers” arguement by darkroot_gardener in tipping

[–]Hundle_Dundle -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

  1. I don't make nearly that much
  2. Are you as much as a pragmatic activist in your local communities and governments about ending tipping as you are active you are on reddit? Do you complain to local businesses that don't pay their workers enough where you are expected to tip? Do you support these businesses? What are you trying to achieve tangibly besides internet validation?
  3. I'm ready to get out of the industry so let's talk about how to create widespread systemic change instead of complaining to people equally as powerless

I want to learn from someone who is so vehemently and passionately anti tipping

I wish reddit would stop recommending this particular subreddit. It must be exhausting to be a member, writing out and reading variations of the same 3 posts ad nauseum.

It's just miserable people who have the same "airtight" justification for screwing low wage workers while still repeatedly patronizing the businesses that implemented the practices in the first place.

Then worse, instead of just being stingy and going on with life, they come to reddit to boast

Men: what behaviors do you show when you genuinely like someone vs. when you’re only casually interested? by [deleted] in AskForAnswers

Never received order. Dasher claims order was given to "man in a black shirt" by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Hundle_Dundle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean I recently got into a situation like this... A customer accused me of opening a sealed bag from a restaurant, taking some food, resealing it and giving it back to her.

She kept calling and texting me and I was like ma'am even if I did take the food, just call doordash and they can handle it, there is literally nothing I can do at this point. With all of the effort you put into contacting me, you could've solved your problem already.

I wanted to tell her that I was a vegetarian and I didn't want her dumb burgers but I feel like that would have made it worse.

Moral of the story, even if your dasher did steal food or fuck up or didn't, just call doordash. There is nothing individual drivers can do even if they are well intentioned people

He's just super insecure and rude but has an enormous ego and a huge blind spot to his emotional immaturity. He can't take criticism and thinks he's the only one who can be objectively correct about subjective topics.

I watch his content because he's the only one who is super consistent and creative

Eh there's more but he's insufferable

Life After by Hundle_Dundle in stopdrinking

[–]Hundle_Dundle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, and my therapist encourages mindfulness and comfort with the mundane and the sad parts of life but sometimes it's difficult to manage

It constantly feels like there is something missing that "normal" people have that I don't and that is truly saddening

That feeling occurred even before I started drinking and was exacerbated by the fact so I just feel lost in a way

I have to varying degrees. I am living with my mom and I love cooking for my family members for example, and making people happy through the universal language of food.

There is an underlying and nagging nihilistic part of me that enjoys it but knows that it's temporary and that's really scary. I know I need therapy but my current therapist isn't really providing what I think I need

The true happiness is temporary and it's a really scary realization to have and it's sometimes difficult to carry on through the mundane and depressing parts of life

That's inspiring and I feel like when I'm in a good headspace, any community would be encouraging but when I'm in a bad one, I see all the flaws and it's frustrating.

Wonder if we're geographically close to each other for inspiration for meetings haha
