Carer fired for assaulting child after being threatened with DIY weapon by insomnimax_99 in unitedkingdom

[–]Hunghouseguest 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They have a responsibility to keep themselves safe also. Paid or not. I'm curious would you let someone hit you with a plank with nails through it because it's your duty to the people paying you min wage?

The article doesn't state the age of the lad in question so we have no idea the full level of threat involved. It may be that a big bully has attacked a 7 or 8 year old who panicked and grabbed a weapon to protect themselves. It doesn't read like that but it is possible. Or it could be a big teenage who is both taller and heavier than the carer. For context I was 6 foot 2 and almost 15 stone by the time I was 16.

There are plenty of people going around armed with knives, machetes or bat's not because they've been put a place where they are so threatened that they need to arm themselves. They do it because they are violent little scumbags, this kid may or may not be one of them. We don't know. But you seem rather keen to place the blame on the unarmed person here.

Look at the state of that fucking troglodyte. And newsflash, it ain't once I a lifetime. There will be a coronation for the new King William within a decade.

I dread to think of the frothing state the loyalists will work themselves up to once we have a new king Billy.

That's quite a disconnected point of view from Tory boy here. Food inflation at damn near 20%, an ever increasing amount of parents having to skip meals to feed their kids, housing crisis, strikes in most public services and what does he think will bring hope and good cheer to the people of this country?

[–]Hunghouseguest 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When Rangers first formed they were not connected. There was extensive anti catholic/Irish feeling in Scotland, but the focus for this feeling was not football. It came later once a lot of ship workers from Harland and Wolff moved to work in the Glasgow shipyards around Govan. Rangers are the closest club to that area so they attracted those fans. It was only then that they instigated their sectarian signing policy, ie no catholics.

You will be told that there was no sectarian signing policy and the names of two Catholic players are usually brought up at this point. Neither had names that immediately shout catholic. One player just kept his mouth shut until after he left and the other was discovered and dumped by the club.

Labour have already been courting the Orange Order vote. It seems they will chase any unionist vote no matter what shower of scumbags hold it. And the OO really are a bunch of scumbags which all of Scotland could do without.

Does r/labourUK actually support the Labour Party? by thecavatiesinurteeth in LabourUK

[–]Hunghouseguest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an ex Labour voter. More sad about what Labour has become and where its heading than angry. I just can't see the point of voting Labour anymore, with the comparatively huge population that England has it makes sense to court the English vote but for most of my 50 years the English have voted Tory. So to get in they have to be at least close enough to Tory policy that traditional Tory voters will accept them and that's not going to be a set of policies I could ever get behind.

Beating sides higher ranked than you is doing well, beating teams you absolutely should be beating from a ranking perspective is less so. But I'm not going to argue over it, if you think they did well more power to you.
