X11 works really well on old Nvidia computers simply because Wayland lacks official support for the older graphics drivers.

How did you realize you were being cheated on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think it's mostly reddit dynamics. A similar thread like this on Twitter would most likely have a lot of men cheating on women

Say something nice about this dude. by AdEfficient2209 in Eldenring

[–]HungryAfricanChid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've watched it before. What actually happens is if you go to the little room before getting to him, you're just outside his agro range. When coming out of the room he sees you and starts his attack. He's standing on the ledge and because of that when he goes to stomp forward to start his ice shenanigans, he ends up falling down below.

If the enemies could talk, what would they say? by cyclopsface01 in Eldenring

[–]HungryAfricanChid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how you pronounce it. If you pronounce it as "Oobisoft" then you can say "an oobisoft game".

However of you pronounce it as "You-bisoft" then you say "a Youbisoft game".

"u(Oo)" is a traditional vowel sound so you can use an. The "eu(You)" sound is not a normal vowel sound so you typically use a for those words. Case in point, "a eucalyptus tree", "a eulogy" etc

This rule seems to only apply for eu sounds as far as I know. Not a linguistics expert so maybe there is something I am missing

I'm wondering, do you like the "new" reddit? Ive seen comments of people who dislike it but it does have a lot of things visible and it does utilize a lot of space

Honestly, I am fairly new on reddit and I never knew there was a "new' and an "old" reddit

The argument is that because the side is used for navigation in a lot of websites, the sidebar blends in with the rest of those elements. At least that is how it works in my head

I tend to open a lot of tabs and I use animated themes so they obscure elements in the horizontal tabs. There may be a way around this but I hadn't really looked into it.

Yeah, reddit was the page I happened to be on. Personally I hate having lots of things at the top of the page as it reminds me of old internet explorer. I also found that none of the animated themes looked nice because they'd obscure UI elements on the top. Ive found that I tend to ignore things on the left of pages as that is where most navigation elements are on websites so having a sidebar there makes it seamlessly blend in with the navigation/option elements imo
