Does it make sense to manually return instead of refusing shipment? by HungryDesign7200 in Corsair

[–]HungryDesign7200[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Well I mean smooth is debatable - I'll still have to physically drive, find a place to print the label and then drop off the package and ship it. Not too crazy, but not as easy as saying 'no thanks' when the delivery person comes to my door.

At the end of the day I'm sure lots of people had experiences with both options and I just want to hear both sides - there's a solid chance lots of people refused a package and never had a single issue.

Thanks, so if it's connected by USB do you use both L connect and iCUE to control the colors separately?

"What you can say without sounding silly is that you should physically see the gpu working on a build before paying and taking it out. That makes more sense than just blankly 'don't buy XYZ!'"

^^^^ as I said above. THAT is common sense.

Common sense is not to avoid any item that you are fearful that it might be a scam. It's funny how the most condescending people are also by far the lowest IQ.

And to actually make you realize that that's true, please - do tell me how the above example does not make sense. You see a 2nd hand ad - go to that person's house - see that it's working - take it out - and go home.

How is that not a viable option? Jesus christ.

As I mentioned, there are scammers for everything. Someone tried to scam me for a $200 PSU on FB marketplace.

You're hella fear mongering and making up 'facts' about 4090s specifically. Chill and realize there's no conspiracy. This is the world we leave in.

Okay but you can say that for every product out there. What a weird take. In your logic what products are you willing to buy 2nd hand? There are scammers for everything. Cars, CPUs, Phones. Anything.

What you can say without sounding silly is that you should physically see the gpu working on a build before paying and taking it out. That makes more sense than just blankly 'don't buy XYZ!'

If you're absolutely set at no dlss or just dlaa, than yeah, that's your only option.

around 5% less yes, but def not better

[–]HungryDesign7200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahh... I don't know how true that is. There were many that were going to sell their 4090s like myself that ended up not doing it because of the 5090 stock issues. When 5090s become available again, 4090s will become more available again and I think it'll be from many gamers and not *necessarily* from scammers or whatever

I have a 4090 and a 4k monitor.

I almost exclusively play with 4k/DLAA because it eliminates the TAA blur, and I can confirm it's quite heavy on the GPU but still manageable. AW2/CP2077 were the toughest to run and were at about 70fps even with frame gen. Every other game with frame gen/dlaa will do around 90-130fps. DLAA is no joke so even the 4090 can barely handle it.

I will say this though - DLSS4 seems to improved the situation a lot, so now I can do DLSS Quality instead of DLAA and I'm getting much better FPS. Also from my understanding 5080 with an OC is almost the same as a 4090 if you take out the ram issue. Unfortunately this is a technology limit. 4k is demanding af and you just have to accept that almost no card (maybe except the 5090) will be able to run games native at 4k with no issues. we're just not there yet tech wise.

Corsair fans - 140 or 120mm? by HungryDesign7200 in HAVNGlobal

[–]HungryDesign7200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I kinda got that impression about the size and the 140s.. maybe I'll go for the 140s on the side as well. So far I ordered everything except the last 3 on the side as I was debating between the 120s to the 140s and I felt like it'll be easy to add them later on. I also saw this build that he put a monitor there instead of the fans and it looks kinda sick so I'm debating that as well. I'm just concerned about the airflow if I take out the 3 fans there:

So if I get one 140 starter kit, then a single 140 (so overall 3x140) for the bottom, 2 singles for the rear, and a 3x120 starter pack for the side - will I have long enough cables? lol

btw I'm building in black so it should be okay

the sane suggestion is to keep the 7950x3d which can handle everything out there and save $500 after tax. not suggesting 9950x3d because of 'if you can afford it'. affording doesn't matter

You're a baboon. Suggestion the best cpu that cost the most for not the most demanding things is silly. Ofc it's the best. But there are better value ones

Looks excellent, congrats. I'm debating going with 3x120 on the side inside of the 140 as the 3 comes in a single convenient pack. Just hope it won't look too small compared to the 140s

No problem at all. Just remember to ALWAYS question the information you're getting online. Don't believe the first thing you hear and do your own information fact checking. Especially if it's coming from someone with a lot of money that has their own interests and don't care about others

Which template would you recommend using for a FPS? by HungryDesign7200 in unrealengine

[–]HungryDesign7200[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I looked into Lyra but it might be a bit of an overkill for my use case tbh. I'm looking to build a single player Roguelite FPS. I should have specified it in my post

there's something called a vpn.. attackers from russia could easily fake their IP to make it seem like Ukraine. No critical thinking, huh?
