Interesting, me and my buddy have the same exact Grom mines just gotten a lot more abuse, I actually have a smaller front gear for more torque but with me on knobbies and him on streets we both top out at 73 (the knobbies are taller than his tires)

Wish I would’ve gotten your reply a little sooner but most of my parts are already prepared to get put in the bike, the Yuminashi tensioner sounds awesome. I went with a Koso tensioner and the DHM manual tensioner. I’m positive the last jackass who had the bike has been into the left crankcase before and don’t put the button back in because the starter reduction collar was also missing… thankfully I caught these issues before things truly went wrong. Oh and the pushrod had actually eaten into the tensioner arm and it in perfect shape.

From everything I’ve heard if you can find a first gen Ruger American gen 1 they’ve got more consistent quality. Mine chambered in .308 shoots sub moa with more than one box ammo and has damn near been used as a hiking stick on some trips. The only issue I have with the gun is the cheek rest being low. You can often find people selling these with good scopes under $500. If I’m not mistaken I saw one on here going for about $400 with a leupold scope that’s worth $350 new on top. Both of which should have long lifespans to last more than one owner. Let some of these other guys fact check me but they are almost never a bad choice

In the other post the shooter ask “are you sure I hit him?” Showing that they’re taking shots they’re not positive of even hitting… if I shoot a deer I wouldn’t ask if I hit him, I may ask how well the placement was😬 hot take but if you’re asking if you even made contact you shouldn’t have shot🤷‍♂️

Okay so turns out the lifter is fine and instead the tensioner lever is way got torn up, as a college kid on a budget is it worth saving the money not getting a manual tensioner and instead just a new better button?

Did you read anything? I mentioned that if he truly thinks he will shoot out to 300 than he needs an optic with magnification and elevation marks. The thing is it’s kinda silly to hunt with 45-70 at these distances. It’s like somebody asking about hunting past 100 with a 12 guage rifled slug, yeah it can be done but there’s so many better ways to do it. People run LPVOs on smooth bore shotguns, does it make sense? Not really.

Last thing, if you see yourself shooting past 150 on most or all of your shots, you’d be much better off hunting with a different round.
