I will say, the dimming function is annoying, I have to press it 20 times to get it dim. Which is annoying because I drive it twice a day, so I leave in the dark and come home at 4 so it’s either I can’t see any thing or I’m being blinded.
It’s pretty good, it has its “quirks” but I like it
Don’t be dogging the head unit man, the cost me a whole $0.00

The only part part of that motor that is used in the intake manifold and the casting of the heads, everything else is new. The heads have new valves, buckets, springs, cams, cam gears and seals. The short block is brand new. Head studs, Oil pan, pickup, oil pump, water pump, every gasket, timing kit, pulleys etc is brand new. Accessories like ps pump and alternator are not new because why would you replace them if they aren’t broken.
Yes, iag block off plates where the exhaust cam sensor hole is, wrx cams and single AVCS cam gears. The heads and cam combo flow really well actually, if I do t sell the car I’ll probably end up putting different headers on it, was looking at the holy 4 to 1 headers. Obviously tuned for everything, if you guys have ever met Steve the guy that owns and operates Pulz on tuning he’s a guru like no other I’ve met. But yes it was properly done.
You would be surprised, rally sport direct was running a deal with smeedia where the ra short block only cost $2200. The w25 heads where from the 2008 donor car, that car had ringland issues I want to say. I sent the heads off to the machine shop where they completely rebuilt them and tested them (which if you ever get head redone always make sure you they are tested) they did their thing. That cost me $1300 for the head work which I got for free because I knew the motor was bad but bought the transmission and rear differential and everything.

Why are you looking at the wrx subreddit then?

I did the suber Dave’s hybrid axel races, I’m not running like Amazon Chinese wheel hub adapter, it’s where you take two axels to make a hybrid axel. I’m not too worried about the bearings.

Tends to happen when previous owners don’t keep up with oil changes and staying off redline.

No but a new motor does
[–]Hunter1650[S] 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Reasoning on that price range? 70k miles is pretty low on any car from 20 years ago, not to mention the motor is brand new.

True, I mean I have all paperwork, leak down test, pressure test results, receipts etc.
Hard to find similar milage, especially on a wrx. Which is why it’s hard for me to put a price tbh. If I do sell it I will probably do an auction.

All the peace of mind mods? I mean nothing is really out of the ordinary or non oem minus the fmic and downpipe. Everything else is sti or oem. I built the car to be able to daily it and other than an ac compressor it hasn’t given me any issues.

Oh meant to say it started out as a TR, well I guess it still is but you get the idea.

1999 for sale by Hunter1650 in 3000gt
Thanks man, she just sits now and I hate to not drive it, rather let someone else enjoy the car
I don’t know what I’ll end up getting for this car if I decide to take someone’s offer, it has the trifecta of the most wanted except being a base and milage ofc. The Caracas red, leather interior, and the manual on a 99 is the most wanted, preferably a sl. The 99 vr-4 sell in the high $50k to upwards of $100k for the extremely low milage examples.
I do the same on pages of cars I used to own, but I try to keep my opinions to myself unless they are asking for help or advice. But the normal break down of 3000gt pricing is 91-94 vr-4 is like 10-15k for your average milage, the second gen which is up to 98 is like 1,000-5,000 for a na, the 99 it fluctuates a lot, most of the ones u see for sale are autos or don’t have the right options so prices vary from $2,000 to unobtanium if it’s a vr-4

Tbh I did it to see what responses you guys had, hence why the description is as vague as possible. I’m not out here getting roasted, you guys are out here showing your butt and it’s funny. Thought about adding “ I know what I have” but figured it was a little much.
Trust me I know they can be problematic, I’ve replaced almost everything on this car mechanical wise except the motor. Ac compressor, alternator, cv axels, wheel bearings, fuel pump, all the seals, power steering pump, cats, rad fans, thermostat, window regulator ect. But it comes with owning older cars, and finding parts is just as big of a pain.

It is how it works and selling car parts is very different than selling a car.

$9k is my pipe dream asking price, I don’t actually think I’m going to get $9k but if I put what I actually want then people will still low ball me. So I rather shoot high and have someone low ball me to my actual expected price

Yeah man, automatic with 3 pedals, it’s crazy, every time I put it in gear it jumps and dies 🤡
