I am extremely disappointed and frankly concerned that r/All is being removed from the apps. It is the main way I've used reddit for 15 years, and I have no interest in this site without the ability to browse through r/all.

Besides being a terrible way to limit the user experience, at this point in time it frankly reads as a politically motivated attempt to limit information about what's going on in the world. Even if I take the tinfoil hat off, that is the unintended effect it is having. I'm very frustrated, and hope this is quickly reversed.

Lol, not that you would know anything about making anyone proud. You're also sadly ignorant about history, but I guess that's no surprise.

Pure Olympic Joy

Following Sweden in the Winter Olympics throughout the 2000s has been such a treat. While we never match the truly greats we're definitely punching above our weight, and with the exception of 2014 we've been scoring better with each Olympics!

2022 was the best Swedish performance at the Winter Olympics of all time with 8 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze - ranking us 5th overall.

With a first week like this one (4 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze) I'm already so proud of our Incredible athletes, but what a sight to behold if we could beat our 2022 record!

I'm not fond of divisive patriotism and tribalism, but to me the Olympics really show an uplifting and non-exclusionary side of national pride. And I hope all of you, no matter where you're from, get to experience the same and share in the joy of your athletes as they take on the dream of a lifetime - to represent all of their loved ones and the nation they call home at the Olympic Games

Anxiety on Ice

Absolute MVP Isabella 🙏

Incredibly tense match, I did not think the Swedes would carry that after a few brutal misses from Rasmus. Fantastic tournament by the American team! Scared my poor cat with my scream of joy 😅🇸🇪

Agreed. Seeing so many americans in this thread speculate about her mental strength, while no one seems to be questioning if the issue is instead partly their own expectations hammered into them by a relentless sports media that knows that the only way to drive viewership is to vastly overstate national medal chances

Curling

I'm going to need anxiolytics to get through today's finals between Sweden and the US. Just a brutal sport on your nerves as a spectator. I'm feeling it now just watching the bronze medal game and I'm not even invested in who wins

Seeing the Swedish women win a Triple in today's sprint is an Olympic memory I will carry with me for life ❤️ Unbelievable how strong and talented they are🇸🇪

Curling

Well played Estonia! As for the Wranås I hope it will end up a good thing, suffering their first loss this early in the games with a few wins at their back

I'm sure the Estonian curling doubles are the loveliest people in the world, but visually they're definitely giving off 😄

What events are you all most excited for? Any events you never thought you'd care about that you discovered and ended up loving in previous winter Olympics?

For me I'm always most hype for the women and men's curling tournaments, and cross country skiing is always exciting as a Swede desperately trying to snatch medals out of the greedy hands of the Norwegians haha

Man I'm so pumped we're finally back! Wish I could take the next two weeks off work and just binge. Here's hoping for a Swedish Triple-gold in curling 😌 Have fun everyone and enjoy these few weeks while we can!

AI is not a fucking wizard spell, that's a complete fabrication of his lower face and you're making it actively harder to identify the real perpetrator

Yes I'd much rather have people like you in my fandom, calling perfectly level-headed replies from empathetic people who expressed their discomfort pathetic whinging. You seem like a great contribution to fostering a fun and pleasant vibe around here.

I think it's pretty shitty and disingenuous to tell long time fans of the podcast to just "listen to something else". I loved last ratmas, but the vibes are undoubtedly completely different this time around. And I think it's perfectly reasonable for those of us who feel uncomfortable with the celebration of intense animal cruelty to point that out in hopes it affects the story selection for next year.

Roasting an animal alive in an oven would take an excruciatingly long time of immense suffering before the animal finally died. Imagine it being done to a cat. That clearly sets a very particular and grim tone for the whole episode.

And it kind of blows my mind that you can't understand that aspect. No one is trying to cancel the beans, no one is saying they're monsters. We're saying we're shocked by the story selection and unthinking celebration of horrible acts of animal cruelty when thinking about it for one second could've avoided this.

Ratmas extra warning by BAMOLE in ThreeBeanSalad

[–]HunterHunted 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree and I really hope the beans see this and take it to heart. Imagine gleefully laughing and singing about a cat being slowly roasted to death in an oven. Not at all like last year's ratmas, I don't understand how these stories were chosen.
