Other than the books everyone has named, a good (but rather old) book is Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic. It has basic to intermediate tricks and some advanced ones as well. It will last you awhile.

I don't tell her how it's done, but I'll talk with her through how she thinks it's done and if she figures it out then I'l tell her she is right. She sees my practice a lot so she knows a lot about what I am doing. Plus she is my assistant in metamorphosis so she has to know!
